This is my journal/thoughts mainly for my own personal use in the future, but feel free to contribute...
I'm glad AP.com finally has forums.
I've been lifting for 11 years, 8 of which were totally clueless...until I found this site back in '03
I never do flat bench but two months ago I decided to do some flat DB's just to mix it up. The next day, I could bearly move my right shoulder and I haven't been able to do any pressing movements (except for CGBP) since.
It's gotten a little better, I predict another 6-8 weeks, I can do incline db's and shoulder presses, dips, etc again...
I've been doing a "DC based" program for almost a year now yesterday was back/chest/shoulder/tri day

deads: 325 x 11
285 x 9
CG pulldown: 195 x 12, x6, x5
CG BP: 185 x 12, x6, x3
I also did some shrugs and laterals for shits and giggles
I'm weighing in at 194 with a visible 6'er so I'm guessin I'm around 9-11%BF
short term goal: gain lean mass
long term goal: gain LOTS of lean mass
tomorrow is Leg/bi/forearm/abs day
I did legs/bis abs the day before yesterday, it went well. I could actually do back squats again instead of front squats. my shoulder hurt to fuking bad before.
yesterday was my girl's birthday I cooked her breakfast at 1am (yeah we're both shift workers, time means nothing to us). took her to a movie, out to eat and went to the club with some friends. I didn't drink or smoke but i feel like i can't breathe, how do you bouncers do that shit every day?
It's 0847hrs on Sunday and the gym opens at noon. I went to bed at 4am just woke up around 8. already had one meal, gonna eat my pre w/o meal at 1000 so i can be knee deep in some sik shit by noon.
i'm working back, shoulders (laterals only), and tris. would do chest and shoulder presses but I'm still injured. damn it's been 2 months already, when is this shit going to go away? i can't wait...
had a killer workout yesterday. today was eat/grow day. legs /bis /forearms on the menu for tomorrow. Gonna rock some front squats, can't wait.
Shit, I almost forgot, i was actually able to do incline DB's yesterday with minimal pain in my left shoulder. I got the 75's for 8...had to stop due to pain not fatigue, but it better than nothing. before my injury I was gettin the 100's for 12, hopefully i'll be back there and then some soon...
I've been eating alot of ground turkey latley, it tastes great and it good for BBing. I've used it to make strogonaf, chilli, sloppy joe caserole (made it up myself), baked spegetti w/ wheat noodles of course...etc...
I'm back on day shift so I'll be hittin the gym after work, unless i can't sleep then I'll open 'em up at 0500

We are in the middle of a big inpsection at work (USAF) that we've been trining for since June. It all boilsdown to two days of evaluation. Last night was the first night and it went terrible. People who normally know their shit was stumbling all over themselves. Why is it that most of us crumble when the pressure is on or when it's just time to shine?
i just hope i don't mess anything up. I've been awake for 24 hours. shit happens when you switch back and forth from day shift to night shift 4 times in a matter of 10-11days...the days run together. i really have to ask what day it is, date it is, etc...Time has no meaning. you sleep when you're sleepy and you get up when you wake. The clock? just a bunch of numbers, a combination of which means it's time to go to work. When I wake up from a deep sleep sometimes it takes me a few seconds to realize who i am, my name, where I am, what species i am, etc....that's some wierd shit in case you don't know.
next session is heavy. my fucking favorite...

i find time, thx for askin. I'm at work right now. it's 436am and I've been awake for 23 1/2 hours. Only 3 more hours until I get off. I know this type of shit is bad, but it's not my fault. I had a good day in the gym today. repped out my widowmaker on the hack squat with 290lbs clangin' that shit all tha way to tha floore and back up 20 times. set took me a whole oTep song....sepsis i believe.
Took my girl out to eat at Golden Coral and had some good cheat food. back on that wagon now tho. hopefully my schedule will have some cinsisency and i can get in a groove.

aWESOME awesome workout today. I was needing to get 325 x 12 on the deads in order to progress, I pulled that for 13 reps. I was feelin good, then I need to get 285 for 10 on my 2nnd set, I got that for 13 also. next week 335 for 12 and 295 for 12.
drove all the way to work last night only to discover no cars in the parking lot, checked my phone and boss had called, left a message saying "we were off" that's a kick ass feeling. to drive ALL the way to work, dreading that shit, only to realize you can go back home and chill with ur girl.
...it's been a pretty sweet 24 hours. off to walmart to pick some things up. pz

i love shift work. sittin here at the pc eating tuna at 450am.
finally all healed up. i would say I'm at 95% right now in my shoulder.
Funny thing is I slipped on my jeans while I was bowling, cracked my knee right on the hard ass hardwood floor. I can feel something chipped off inside....I mean it hurts but i can walk, just cant squat.
can I GET a break?
I lost track of time today and ate my pre w/o meal at 0700, meat to eat it at 6. Anyway, felt like I was going to puke the whole session....lesson learned i guess.
Anyway, i still deadlifted more than I ever lifted in my life, so not a total lost.
I thought I still had a month left on my Golds membership due to the fine print in the contract stating they need 30 days notice or they will continue to draft out of my checking account.
I fucking loathe Golds gym. i mailed my cacellation packet a month ago, even though my contract was expired, i still needed to mail in a packet??? whatever, so i did it.
Well i call them today to make sure they got it and the lady is like "oh, you should have gotten it certified mail, so now you have to pay for May"
WTF! I was so pissed I was seeing red. ANyway, before all of that I went to my new gym, paid $275 for a year, he gave me a card and i did cardio. No contracts....no bullshit.
i hate Golds. i hate Golds. I will visualize that gym when I need that last rep now cause they have fuking pissed me off.
not to mention the other day I have to wait in line to get in because of people just standing around shootin the shit. they are nothing more than a bunch of money hungry bastards that can lick my fucking sack.

my girl is so amazing. Tonight she cooked my chicken, put in tuperware for me to take to work. had coffe made when I woke. (I work nights and wake up at 10pm).
The chicken tastes awesome, the coffee was good, and she doesn't mind that I go to the gym 6 out of 7 days. I found a rare one.
Oh, and she already knows that marriage is out of the question...so she's not just trying to reel me in......lol
the whole world is asleep and i am awake. I love working nightshift. It's 430am....I've been up sice 10pm. I got o the gym when I get off at 8am. it's pretty much empty. You can still smell the stink from the gruling workouts the night before...
With the exception of a few old people and casuals, I'm the only one in there. It's so much better than going when i first wake up or in the evening at peak hours.
I did 45 minutes of incline treadmill walking this morning, front squats and bis on the menu for today.
...another day, another log book ass whoopin...

The Mayans believed the world would end on december 21, 2012. many experts on the subject beleiev this to be true also. on this day, december 21st 2012, a very rare cosmic alignment will take place in the universe and milky way. So maybe the world will end this day or maybe it will just sweep in a new era, "a great change" some interpret it. The mayans predicted the civil war in America, the revolution in France, and WW II....
will the world end in 5 years on December 21st? WHo knows, I'll just be sure to go to the gym early that day...
