I was wondering if 12 weeks is enough time to burn my 27% body fat (not an accurate percentage I estimated using a tape measure...that's all I have)??? I been on a diet for about 5 weeks and trying to compete in my first contest in april....
Here i my diet:
600AM ANIMAL M-STAK
630am WORK OUT
830am Protein Shake w/ Creatine and Gutamine
1000am 4 Scrambled Eggs and 4 slices of Turkey
1/4 Cup of Grits
1 Animal Pak
1200pm 1 Animal Cuts
2 Chicken Breasts w/ 2 Cups Veggies
300pm 10 Eggwhites
1 Animal Pak
430pm 1 Animal Cuts
600pm 10 Eggwhites
2 Cups of Veggies
900pm Protein Shake
I don't know my total intake...should I kno??
I'm 5'7'' 255lbs...I am currently doing cardio for 30 minutes 5 times a week. I was 270 when I started...but most of the weight was water weight I guess...Let me know what you guys think...

(if you think you are 27%BF and your wt is 255 then your lean (no fat) body wt would be 186 that's 69 lbs of bf. however, you will most likely not show at 0% bf, so lets be reasonalbe and say you'll show at 4%. that's a stage wt of about 194 which means you will need to lose 61 lbs in 12 wks or about 5lbs per week! is it possible???? It may be, is it resonable? I'm not sure. you would need lots of planning to hit 4%. But wtf its worth a try man! take a run at it document everything and see where you end up when you are a week out!)
Here i my diet:

You are taking on quite a challange to diet for competition shape the first time on your own.
You should go and find out your BMI so you have some place to start and yes, if you are trying to diet I think you should be weighing your food and monitoring your intake like clock work.
you are eating clean but I would drop the protein shakes cause they are to easy for your body to utilize and there is little or no energy spent in digestion on those meals. Remember the key here is to exspend more energy than you take in, without starving your muscles. there is a fountain of knowledge here for you to educate yourself.

Protein shakes no good for me at all?? I added the shakes in fear of starving my muscles I can deal with the chicken I luv it over egg whites..it's just the measuring and counting the calories...how do I do that with the exception of the food that comes with nutrition labels??? How do you measure your intake?? maybe if you could tell me how you do it...and I could use it as an example to go by...thanx for the reply

Don't get me wrong, I am not saying shakes are no good for yu at all. Just yu are trying to make your body work in everyway posible and so digestion will use energy.
I'll give you some rough estimates to play with, but you must be consistent and if yu make changes make them slowly and incrementally.
if yu are 255 @ 5'7" yu should take in about 2560 in total cals.
yur split could be 25% protein - 640 cal 4 gram per cal pro = 160 gram
60% carbs 1536 cals 4 cal per gram cal = 384 grams
15% fat 384 cal 9 cal per gram fat = 42.6 grams
Now go out and buy a good calorie book or you can go to www.calorieking.com and search the food you want. it will give you the break down. Get a scale and start keeping a daily diary.
good luck, keep in touch.

yo,
Jbear is right, u need 2 find out ur BMI before u can even start, or else its like trying 2 find a destination without a map book, go 2 ur local gym 4 an assesment, or buy urself a set of calipers.
As for dropping the shakes, NO WAY!, just switch to a shake that has min carbs, like an iso-protien. While taking in less calories than ur expending is the idea, u still need the protein or ur body will think its being starved of it & start using the only other source of it to fuel regeneration of the cells, and thats ur muscle mass, so ull lose lean mass & actually gain more fat. Preferably, go see a proper dietician & theyll work it all out for u. Also, drop the M-stak, and go for a quality NO/ creatine booster like animal pump. The M-stak wont work as effectively if ur using cuts aswel + u need the protein from the shakes(2g p/ lb) if u wanna see great results.
good luck.
