What up fellas
I wanted to see if anyone could some advice. I'm 5'9 about 200. I lift heavy and switch up my workout often. For some odd strange fucking reason I cant get under 200 pds. During the summer I workout 6 times a week and do cardio 5 times a week. I have no clue on what to do. I eat clean and I'm not gonna lie, I drink heavy on weekends. Mosty whiskey straight. My goal is to be around 180 shredded. Can any of you wolves help me out?
What is your diet like....what kind of cardio do you do?how much water do you drink a lot of times water weight can be the diffrence of aboout ten pounds...the scotch bad I am sure you know but we all have that one thing mines is as you can see donuts which is okay once a week but in small amount...fill me in on those thing and I should be able to help you a little more and of course the others here...I would say search but I think you may be diffrnet than most with this isssue...

do you still workout after you drink too? because i think that might be kind of a waste, because i don't think your body will try to rebuild muscle after you drink, it will try and rebuild your liver...try maybe trading it up like 5 days of lifting, 6 days of cardio...i really don't know much about cutting at all i'm just suggesting

Don't drink. The weight will come off. Alcohol not only puts cals in but stops you're body burning fat.
Bin the booze and you'll drop the weight alot easier.
Thanks for the suggestion. I will have to stop the drinking and see what happens. I eat alot of greens, chicken, streaks, I drink a little less than a gallon of water a day. Gatorade is the best and of couse the booze. Sometimes I would talk to certain people who I thought were hardcore and they just lift for the chicks. I knew I came to the right place.

Have a tipple at weekends, but in moderation. Going heavy on any alcohol will break down muscle, load you with shitty carbs, and you can forget the word 'shredded', only thing shredded will be your head the morning after.
If you find it hard socialising without ol Jack daniels, then seek an alco free alternative.

Thats the way mate, dedication, focus. You've got to be in it 100%, as soon as you take the plunge with binning the booze you'll see a difference.
It sucks for the first few weeks but after that i didnt miss it at all.

That is why we are all here...may not like the truth but it is what it is and no sugar coating..According to most doctor a drink on occasion is okay jus in moderation...more water may help you only a half a gallon if you get the time maybe off days throw down extra this will help balance your body and you might shed of some of that water weight I am still trying to get my body to adjust to two gallons....up to 1 1/2...so give it a whirl might go to the rest room a little more so that is why I said on the off days but you will adjust...

You may want to switch your cardio to morning sessions on a empty stomach before you eat breakfest. 40 min sessions walking at a good pace on a treadmill ( speed 3.5 to 4.0) and an incline of 3. (4 sessions should be good to start) - this always works for me when I am getting ready for a show.
Also I would also suggest cutting out the alcohol, all it does is ruin all your hard work in the gym and also your clean eating. After you have a hard night drink for the next couple of days your body's main foucs is to breakdown the alcohol this effects your bodies ablity to channel all the proper nutrients from your food to your muscules.

Get rid of the alcohol. I was the same way at first. I was always drinking a lot of alcohol as a teenager. Every damn week I would drink a shitload of vodka. Once I got rid of it my body changed and I am very happy for it too. The last time i got wasted was like 2 or 3 years ago. The only thing I drink maybe like once every 4 or 6 months is a glass of wine. I am very proud of myself for being able to say no to alcohol now and no to ppl who offered it to me. I feel stronger.
I drink a lot too on weekends and I know it fucks with my body. I would suggest supplements that speed up your motabolism, there are a lot of bad rumors about caffine but from what I've read in mens health its great for you as long as you dont abuse it. I just started taking RPM that I received as a sample from bodybuilding.com and so far it seems to be working wonders, my strength is increasing and my pumps last a lot longer plus it makes me sweat a ton, therefore you have to make sure your drinking enough water. Other than that you have to cut fat from your diet, for protein you should eat fat free cottage cheese, and the costco chicken breasts that are 99% fat free are amazing, tuna and egg whites. Stay away from butter, mayonase and junk food.
The best way to still drink and lift is to hit the steam room up BIG TIME the morning after. It helps your body tremendously with getting rid of that alcohol. You just sweat it all out and feel great by night time! Stay in the steam room for about 20 to 30 minutes, it helps out your liver big time. Also, look into taking Milk Thistle. It is great in detoxing the liver. Just remember to drink plenty of water, as in GALLONS!!!

c'mon guys let's tell the truth as it is... alochol won't help... and those who say it by moderation they mean a drink or two per week, for example a beer or maximum 2 a week... lots of reasons:
-alcohol has calories, quite many I can say, but most people don't count them
-alcohol is treated like a poison by your body and while you drink it, the food digesting stops, in order to detoxify the alcohol = extra fat
-alcohol dehidrates you... contrarly to what many think, that beer is good when thirsty, it's probably because it's not so rich in alcohol, but anyway drink extra water whe you consume alcohol
now I can find lots of other reasons, but I can tell you this... as long as drinking is a habit of your life, leave bodybuilding alone... save those coktails for a party or whatever... personally I used to like beer and wine quite much at about 14 years old (a bit early) and use to drink a beer every 2 or 3 days (that means it's a habit) but now I think it's been years since I drank more than a drink or anything and it usually happens rare

god...this this really pisses me off......Im fucken 53...Im hitting the gym harder than any old fuck you have ever met....it takes all I have to survive the shit I go through...I eat right....try to fucking sleep.....take my sups...train like a heathon...and dont drink a drop of that shit...and its still a struggle....you really got me at a hot moment bro...you want an answer...here it is...drop the drinking...its that simple....if you do...you have a chance...if you think Im being a prick about this...too friggen bad...most on this forum will tell you Im a pretty cool old guy...but this post really got me hot...not like me to nail someon like this but you win the prize tonight....pm me if you like....but this really got to me.....

yeah bro, if you drink heavy on the weekends youre pretty much cancelling out friday, saturday, sunday, monday and possibly tuesday's work cause youre body is still trying to recover just from the drinking and then youre goign to throw cardio and training on top of that? cut out the drinking bro....you just gotta do it.
first off, cut down on the drinking, then cut the drinking off completely. it can turn into a DISEASE no joke, my brother's friend is going to die from drinking and he can't stop it. Alcohol is not cool for the body, especially one that should be a Temple of Sacrifice and perfection.
Drinking does not get you far, and your session the next day will be a crap one, i've done that once but never again, its too much bullshit to deal with.
don't drink and you will be 180 shredded like a fukkin mofo!!

The brothers and sisters here will help you in any way, shape or form. But Bro, you gotta be willing to help yourself. Don't ask for nutrition advice if all yoy will eat is BigMacs. You drink "heavy" on the weekends, your own words. Maybe that is all that needs to be eliminated for you to hit 180. We all face our demons and dilemmas in this game. And trust me, I know the power of alcohol first hand. It is destructive because it doesn't give a fuck about you. I know you wrote your post to lay out the honest facts, I respect that. But Bro, come on, use your head. People here don't have time to deal with bullshit. They will take all the time to help you, but dude, you gotta help yourself first.

gatorade is a GREAT replinisher, but you gotta watch out for those hidden sugars too. I drink one or two gatorades a day here in Iraq. The rest is water, which gets sweated out in the gym and on mission. Crystal light makes some sport drinks that are sugar free also. If you don't like the water taste and still need the replinishing...try the Crystal Light. That should help some. Also, I have had AWESOME results with Hydroxycut Hardcore. I dropped an inch on my waist and 2% on body fat in about about a month. No pro, but I hop ethis helps....
