whey is perfect, make sure you take it before and after you lift..also take a good multivitamin after the meal you take before you workout-this will cover any drops in diff aminos and vitamins you have...and after a while--start taking creatine 3-5 grams before and after you workout
whey, multi, and creatine are the big 3 supplements you can take to add weight and build muscle mass
keep workin

if you are gonna have a shake before, have one about 1-1.5 hours before your workout, so that the carbs and protein are still coursing through your veins, so you got the nutrients to push yourself. and then 1 after to replenish the stores.
I usually drink my shakes at 1030 and 1430,supper at 1730, in the gym around 1900. then I eat supper with my wife when i get home after the workout,

OK
LISTEN KID, I BEEN DOING THIS SINCE I'M 16 YRS OLD, AND I'LL BE 40 THIS APRIL.
I UNDERSTAND YOUR FRUSTRATION.....BODYBUILDING, COMPETITIVE OR JUST PERSONAL, TAKES A VERY LONG TIME TO REACH SATISFACTION.
UNLESS YOU ARE A FREAK AND GROW LIKE A WEED.
WHAT YOU ARE DOING, AS FAR AS FOOD GOES....AWESOME.
KEEP IT UP, AND TRAIN SMART, NOT JUST WORRING ABOUT THROWING HEAVY WEIGHTS AROUND.
IF I WERE YOU, I'D THROW IN AN ANIMAL PAK 1X A DAY, AND TAKE CREATINE AND GLUTAMIN BEFORE AND AFTER EACH TRAINING SESSION.
AND NON-TRAINING DAYS, JUST TAKE THEM ONCE A DAY.

let you supp's be what they are, SUPPLEMENTS. try to get all the protein, carbs, vits, and mins in the food. throw in a shake as an extra or if you just can't make a meal. as big V said, just bust up on pak, creatine and some glut. work hard, mature your muscles, the add more goodies from their for your desired effect. it's simple, but you gotta break down the muscles, then feed them to grow. learn your body and go with it.
You're too worried that you're missing out on something huge by not taking supplements. I know how you feel, I've been there. But you aren't missing alot. Get a multi-vitamin like Animal Pak, some creatine, and maybe some glutamine/BCAA's. If you're lacking energy, look for some caffeine. If you want to pack on mass, your best bet is to eat like a fucking horse. If you're going to be stubborn though and want to blow your money on a lot of overhyped supps, go down to your local GNC and ask them what to buy. Just know, the guys here know what they're doing, and the guys at GNC just want your money.
and clean your freakin plate each time, very time..............sup Vinny ?!?!

Hey bro, supplements are just icing on the cake... first and foremost like Vinny and others will tell you, ya gotta have your macronutrients (protein/carbs/EFA's) in order. Once ya got your diet and training set, ya might want to look into a a core supplement like the Animal Pak, some protein, and some creatine (Animal Pump is a solid choice). At your age this is about all ya need.
Also moving this to the general supplement sub-forum.

ALWAYS start with animal Pak it should be the foundation in anything. Add some Nitro for extra aminos, and some pump for extra energy
Yoour eating is great you have a plan in place that would make most bodybuilders proud hres the thing why are you trying to put on mass sports, personal etc. I really think you are doing good without supps tou gained 70 pounds how tall are you bro. Eating is essential You got that down like one of animal brothers said clean your plate there are starving people out there. Shake things up d onot be afraid to have a cheat day man. If you are committed to this thing you will be doing for life and not having a cheat day will drive you crazy man. Keep it up animal.
