Hey, after the last few promos, which were a little more serious, I figured, let's lighten the mood. So here it is fellas. Guess what title comes after "Legionary". As most of you know, after 100 posts, you are called a "Plebeian". After 500 quality posts, "Legionary". So what's next?
The Prize
The prize? Now this one is kinda cool and it's very rare. A black Animal towel. It's approximately 16" x 26", 100% heavy-duty cotton, black, and it sports the Animal "A" logo embroidery. It's perfect for throwing into your gym bag. There are no immediate plans that I know of to ever put this into production, so like I said, very rare... Post up your guesses here. The first member who gets it right, gets the towel.
Eligibility
This promo is open to everyone, everywhere.
Rules
Only one guess per member. Those with multiple guesses will not be eligible.
Deadline
Promo ends whenever a member "earns" the new title.

just "Animal"
This description was taken from Wikopedia. I think it sums it up nicely.
Principate (early Empire, 30BC - 284AD)
Until the first century BC, Republican legions were temporary citizen levies, raised for specific campaigns and disbanded after them. By the early first century BC, legions were mixed volunteer/conscript units. Legions became standing units, which could remain intact long after a particular campaign was finished. Large numbers of new legions were raised by rival warlords for the civil wars of the period 49-30 BC.
However, when Augustus became sole ruler in 30 BC, he disbanded about half the over 50 legions then in existence. The remaining 28 legions became the core of the early Imperial army, most lasting over three centuries. Augustus and his immediate successors transformed legions into permanent units, staffed by entirely career soldiers on standard 25-year terms.

As per Wikipedia..."Praetor was a title granted by the government of Ancient Rome to men acting in one of two official capacities: the commander of an army, either before it was mustered or more typically in the field"...
If a Legionary was usually a Roman citizen who enlisted in the legion for a span of 25 years, the next men in charge (the commanders of those armies) were the Praetors.
Heck, even if I didn't guess right, I learned something today!! hahaha...
After all this military history, I could go for seeing 300 again!!! Next Tuesday baby!! Yes!!!
Ambassador .
After so many post they are truly are ambassadors of tis sport of ours and can make great things happen in the forvm and can explain our sport to people on the outside. To me k1usa is a Ambassador for our sport like G Diesel

samurai. Why not? I don't know what a plebian is, but I think its something lower level. The legionary was one of rome's greatest warriors, so why not add another great warrior?

"Princepales"
The Princepales would be the equivalent of modern day non-commissioned officers and had the following rank structures from highest to lowest
Praefectus alae. Commander of a quingenary (five hundred strong) cavalry regiment. Usually the third post in the equestrian military career, though for a short period the second. The post of praefectus alae of a milliary unit brought great prestige and was the extraordinary militia quarta (fourth post in equestrian army career).

Post up your guesses here. The first member who gets it right, gets the towel.
Deadline
Promo ends whenever a member "earns" the new title.
I'm guessing that whoever guesses right will earn the title, and win the promo? I'm not positive, thats just my interpretation.
Maybe URep will shed some more light on this if I'm off...

I didn't read it that way. I read it as whenever a Legionary hits the new title, the promo ends and the first member to guess the new title, wins.

Rome had the senate, the FORVM is pretty clear by now to have strong roman themes. If you post in the thousands, you probably have debated "laws" (diets, form, methods) a time or two, just like the senators of old.
my guess (and i still cant believe that after 5 pages no one said it) is SENATOR.

This may be a mere wish, but if one were to be recognized with a new title here on this site it should be well earned. Post-whores need not apply. Meaningful posts, helping out the other members through knowledge or encouragement, and the possession of a true Animal spirit should be a prerequisite. I, myself, am by no means close to 1000 posts at this point - and I've been a member since day 1. But when I get there I want to feel as if I earned a new title by positively contributing to The Forvm, not be just racking up useless posts.
That said, we should stick to the Roman theme as closely as possible, as most of the suggestions have thus far. To denote the particular levels of social status, we would quickly run out of titles. However, if we incorporated the titles given to Roman government officials, we could have a near endless supply of distinctions (there are many more titles for govenment officials than social classes). It would make a lot of sense if we went in order from the 'entry level' governmant official's title on up.

These are simply suggestions, some of which have been posted already. Would it be safe to assume that the members of the Legion will vote on the 'winning' suggestion? Or will this be decided by the AnimalPak.com crew?
the name has already been decided...it is our job to try and figure out what it is....we are not deciding..we are merely guessing...and when someone gets to this new ranking we will find out the winner..good luck brothers

My suggestions still stand in case of keeping it Roman-oriented. Whether or not they are taken into consideration is up to those in charge of The Forvm.

man its gunna take a long time to find out tho....
i think it will be shorter than you think...i beleive it will be done within the next week or so...if the pattern stays the same the next level will be achieved at 2,500 posts....each ranking is achieved at 5 times the last ranking achieved (thus so far)...plebian - 100, Legionary - 500 , so if the pattern stays it will be 2,500...and i believe we have lowdown is 2,400+ right now...so it could happen very shortly...good luck brothers
