What's your Motto

Ok guys...

What's your MOTTO?

Every Weightlifter's got one. You know something you live by. Maybe its not just limited to the Gym, maybe it leaves the Gym floor with ya.

Mine is to do with EXCEPTANCE and GRATITUDE. This Motto, is something i continually remind myself of, every single fucking day. It keeps me grounded. Whether, I'd be laying back on a bench, staring up at those 5's either side, or wether im about to start moaning within myself, because i just can't chew no more dry food, but I still got 9 more meals. I would repeat my Motto. Which has always been:

"IT'S TIME TO PAY THE BILL!"

Whys it time to pay the bill? Because IVE EATEN THE MEAL! I accept this, and I show gratitude by, not moaning like some little bitch boy, when the waiter comes round with the bill. I don't then start tryi g to make excuses, when the waiter asks how I would like to pay. No, I accept the PRICE, you know the COST, and I nust tell him my chosen payment method.

I remind myself, what ive just eaten, what that meal has just done for me and what it consisted of. There is no if's or but's, ive eaten the meal, stuffed my fucking face in fact, and now... ITS TIME TO PAY THE BILL...

No fucking excuses guys, I still got some of that meal all on my face.

I don't have a motto

There's no way that goals, ambitions, reasons for lifting, or existence in itself can be wrapped up in a few words that are repeated over and over.

I prefer to just shut the fuck up and lift!

Never been one for mottos, sayings etc. especially the "rah rah" optimistic ones. But, this one, or like it, has yanked me by the neck near what I thought was a finished training session-"You're not done when you're tired; you're done when you're DONE!". I'm shortening it for myself now to "Hey, Fuckker, you're not done yet!". And so the sweat and grind goes one a little longer.

I have 3 that have stuck with me for alot of my days treading on this planet.
1 is from my Dad, the other from the Bible, and the third is from Warrior ( James Brian Hellwig )

I remember this one from early in my years, my Dad always told me.. " Go with what got you there "

From the Bible is 2 Thes 3:13.. " But as for you, brothers, do not grow tired of doing what is right "

Warrior quote, which has always been in my signature as well.... "You must show no mercy...nor have any belief whatsoever in how others judge you...for your greatness will silence them all."

I've tried in the past to be the hyped up guy who gets really outwardly emotional for a lift or for a fight (when I was fighting). That never worked for me; I'd always end up leaking energy that was better used on the platform.

Casual savagery means being able to channel the energy you feel into what you're doing. Let others make a spectacle of themselves with their pre lift antics. I want my performance to be what people remember, not my hype up beforehand or the celebration dance afterward.

Because what's scarier than a guy who knocks somebody out like it's nothing or lifts a massive weight without changing expression?

If "Better" is possible, "Good" isn´t enough.

ive been through it all and im not dead yet. that's how I know there is still more.
