There’s been a lot of hype around medicinal purposes for marijuana ever since California legalized in 96. While it was originally intended for terminal aids and cancer patients, you immediately had people claiming it helped soothe a variety of ailments. The problem, though, it that it’s still illegal at the federal level, so there’s been little in the way of legit medical research. It’s just been in the last several years that CBDs have been separated and administered by themselves - and again, while there’s solid evidence that they are a miracle for epileptics, their use for anything else is highly debatable.
I see.
I mean... if you spin it the right way everything has benefits and negative effects. Right?
Take GHB for example. It´s awesome for recovery and as a sleep aid BUT it´s also a great date rape drug. So it was made illegal. Whereas before you could buy it at GNC.
my moms friends dad has parkinsons and was just prescribed cbd with a touch of thc. it is helping him big time. the shaking is down, his appetite is up, and he's able to stay asleep. cbd also helps my friends dad with ptsd. if it works it works. i don't get why people are so afraid of it and saying they don't want to be 'high' when cbd doesn't get you high. it's simply a calming agent that has other health benefits
My great grandmothers life was extended by several years due to marinol(synthetic thc). She had a recurring blood infection, and the antibiotic she was prescribed made her incredibly ill/nauseous, so she would just refuse to eat. The marinol both stimulated her appetite and helped her keep food down, so that she could get back to a “healthy” weight - she only weighed 90-something lbs to start with.
But...then you get guys who pay a doc $200 to help them get a medical card to smoke weed for their asthma.
First of, I´m happy hearing all those people you care for are doing better.
But and that´s my big BUT these are all people suffering from serious physical or mental diseases. Sure I´m all for treating them with a more natural compound instead of Oxy, Vicodin or any other opiate. However "calming down" is essentially a "high". Isn´t it?
I´m not against anything and if you ask me all drugs should be free to purchase. The world has worse problems than a couple of Marijuana smokers and coke sneezers. But I can see how people are against cbd oil to be available freely as it certainly has drug like effects.
This debate will probably never end...
I still haven’t looked up any scientific studies on CBD but it seems that a lot of people in the fitness industry are raving about it. I’ve talked to about four guys, very high level athletes, 2 powerlifter, one armwrestler, and one bodybuilder who claim their recovery is much faster and the inflammation and pain minimization from it is amazing.
I have heard it may help with seizures. I have epilepsy and my neurologist never brought it up. I found out about it first while getting a tattoo from the artist so I was a bit skeptical. I considered it but my epilepsy is under control for now. If I do go on it I’ll report my results. I just would want to find a reliable company that makes it
