Only Animal and Universal for me. Don’t trust anything else. Other supplements it’s hard to say though.
and in all honestly in all that time there were only a handful of reputable places. I still use UNIVERSAL/ANIMAL to this day because they have proven themselves to be commited to providing quality supplements.
All things being equal....

THEY ARE ESSENTIAL! Years ago, when I first started to seriously train for bodybuilding competitions I bought these "protein pills" this guy Bob Hoffman put out. I took them faithfully for months. I felt absolutely nothing! None of the claims he made happened. In my heart of hearts I didn't want to admit to myself that someone of this man's stature would lie about something so important! what the fuck did i know i was 15! I quit using them after almost a year. Then I did the WEIDER thing for a while slightly better outcome but still nothing to write home about. Fast forward a year later. I hear this guy Norm Zale who was selling supplements out of the Y where I was training at raving about this protein powder this guy with this weird name (RHEO H. BLAIR) put out. Turns out this shit was for real! After my first can I put on 11 pounds and my strength in all my lifts increased significantly. I then come to find out this guy Blair had amino acids as well The fucker was charging a buck a pill. So i saved my pennies from my weekend laboring jobs and bought a bottle. Im not sure if the effects were strictly placebo but my squat went up 30 pounds, my bench went up nearly 20 pounds. Mind you guys this was all prior to me finding the Universal brand (which has served me well for so many years). So I did my research at a very young age and can make the claim that quality supplementation IS ESSENTIAL to reach the pinnacle of stength and muscular development.
