yes i have....i used to be really fat in high schoool.......i was "the fat kid" then i got in to boxing and my dad bought me the first set of dumbells and bench and few weights so i can start(my dad was a bodybuilder when he was young) i have seen his pics at 220 with less than 7% b.f........so yeah he is my inspiration...anyways.....then in boxing we used to do a lot of drills like skipping and heavy bag and high reps trainning......u cant lift really heavy when ur a boxer......thats how i lost weight...although i still punch the bag sometimes and dont box anymore i ...i am more of a bodybuilder now than a boxer....u just gotta stick to it an dkeep working hard.....
P.S ...i did it for a girl, i had a crush on this girl in high school ;) haha
working on my first post in my journal.. trying to think of a name that would fit what I feel. Just wanted to say thanks again for all the replies and PMs
Youve found a home hear G.
I have gone from obese to fit several times, when i was 11-12 yrs old i was 180 lbs in grade 6. I started lifting wts. on my 13 th birthday and its been a godsend. My current wt. is around 196 lbs, at around 12-13% bodyfat, at a ht. of 5 foot 8.
It took a long time to loose the weight but diet and exercise are everything, consistency is key, its not only your personal journey but its your life!! Take control and use this forvm as a tool to not only meet current goals, but to set, meet and succeed at future ones.
and enjoy this journey as well, though its you in the trenches, you aren't alone
grow always, always grow

Went from a size 48 (stretched) to a 30.
Woah! Bumped this thread from 2009!
Obese is simply 25% body fat or greater. Pretty sure everyone on here has done that! If you're referring to morbidly obese, different story. By morbidly obese, in medical terminology, it refers to being so overweight that serious health problems begin to arise and that list is absolutely endless!
Respect to that kind of hard work fellas.
Another great success story on this same topic is Vincent Dizenzo. Pretty well known PLer. He took a long time to get the weight off right, and he's in incredible shape.
Amen! With God, all things are POSSIBLE; Mark 10:27.
=)
Very true! His goal once he got out of equipped lifting was to Bench 600 RAW. He always said once he finally achieved it, he would get in top notch shape and no one believed him! LOL!
An amazing Presser for sure, one of the best no doubt.
I am not down by any crazy amount of weight since I started but I do feel a hell of a lot better. The feelings when clothes fit well is a wonderful thing. It is the little things that drive me to walk into the gym on a beautiful sunny 80 degree day when I would rather be sitting on a Mexican restaurant patio sipping on a large beer. A cold beer always tastes better after a good lift. Maybe that's why I am not down in weight...but it is my personal journey and I am just fine with where I am heading.
I def think that how you feel(both physically and self esteem) is far more important than the number on the scale. Yes, its cliche to say, but its true. Not to mention the health benefits of losing weight. If your happiness with the current number on the scale along with the happiness of having the beer is greater than the happiness you get from not having the beer but being a couple lbs lighter.....who is anyone to judge your happiness?
