Hell yeah it was a good time! I hit back and Pantera and d1sc1ple did legs. Pantera hit some PRs. Tiny was there giving out his wisdom and training his trainees that will be competing in the competition this May.
This coming Saturday I plan on lifting with a friend coming in from A&M and another friend who is starting a powerlifting club at University of St. Thomas. Not sure where we'll be yet, maybe Monster Gym!, but I'll keep you guys posted.

Not a bad day. Good to meet you all. We had 12 visitors total. I plan on doing it again in about 3 months. Next time is going to be a much bigger event.

Yes sir it will! Not bad at all for a first time event
I just thought I'd share what's going on with my journey. Maybe I should start a journey.
Most of you know my goal right now is to see whats under the fat. I bulked up a while ago and put on 10 lbs which I'd like to think was at least 5lbs of muscle. At the time I was 18% bodyfat. I don't know what I was before the bulk. I went from 190lbs to the lowest so far is 169lbs. Right now I hover between 170 and 175lb deepending on time of day etc. The weight lost has slowed but I'm using the mirror now and how I look because that is where I'm seeing the changes so I'm hoping I'm either gaining muscle as I cut or at least retaining.
I'm experimenting with pre-exhaust. I've mainly used it so far on chest. I start with 4 sets of dips. I had been knocking out 30 reps per set so I bout a belt and with a 45lb plate I do four sets of 8-10. The I do two sets of cable flies. One set of 20 reps from a high setting then immediatly one set of 20 at a low setting.
After those two I move on to bench and incline bench. I had been going up to 205 or 225 for four sets of 8 or so. Due to my pre-exhaust 135lbs is my working weight. Of course my ego hates that but I'm not powerlifting...YET. My last set is usually a drop. Next I usually do DB pullovers on a bench with a DB 3-4 sets of 12 at 70lbs to get a good stretch. Then on to incline hammer and wide hammer press. 3-4 sets of 8-12. I usually end with cable flies on a ball FST-7 style.
I'm going to use the pre-exhaust next on legs. My ego won't take a blow cuz legs are where I've lost most of my power so I'm used to the lower weight now. Instead of starting with squats (technically i start with 5 min. on a stepmill) I'll start with leg extensions, then leg press, THEN squats and so on.
Hey guys I will have a booth at the Real Deep South natural bodybuilding show. Come check it out if you can, its in conroe all day saturday. here is a link.
Glad to see all you guys are still rocking it. I totally dropped off the face of the earth trying to get the facility rolling, but things are going well and I hope to get back to an ABC soon. I'll be sure to keep checking back in this thread now that I have time.

We just added a reverse hyper, glute ham machine, standing calf machine, lower back, and about 36 45 pound plates, and 10 100's. Much more on the way. The monolift is now out to use.

You're trying to get me to come train legs there, aren't you? =)
I'll start off with the more important topic. d1sc1ple is a busy man so it looks like for this month Sundays work best for him. Other than Easter Sunday that sounds good to me. Anyone up for this Sunday. 11am?
It's good to see GenesisAP back on the boards. He opened up his gym to us last year on a Sunday. They are closed Sundays so it goes to show how awesome of a guy he is. Maybe he'll do it again! wink wink GenesisAP ;)
Ok down to venting. So there is some gym ettiquette. Don't take others' weights, ask someone if they are on a machine before you jump on, stay away from a guy lifting for your safety and his, etc. There are some things that ar hard to avoid especially when its crowded like safely walking around guys lifting. Its either doing it safely or you'll never move. BUT... twice this week someone has spoken to me and tried getting my attention IN THE MIDDLE OF A FRICKIN SET! First monday I did chest and tris. In the middle of straight bar press downs this dude not only talks to me but tries to get my attention in the middle of the set..."hey, excuse me, he are you using this?" asking about another bar. First off does it look like I'm using it!? Second, I'm a little busy here, wait a damn minute!
Today was back day. I was on the seated cable row in the middle of my heaviest set ever, pullin 225 for 8. I'm pretty sure that's the heaviest, maybe Xklubr can vouch for me. This dude walks up in the middle of the set and asks me if I'm using the bar on the ground. I shouldn't have acknowledged him to show I'm busy plus for my own safety but I shook my head no. I swear I was livid. Next time it happens someone's gonna get a piece of my mind.
HAHA it's only funny b/c I get Douche's like that at my gym too. I guess if I went to a hardcore gym I wouldn't have to worry about that.
I can't make it this sunday I work all day. I also have some bad news. I will be moving back to Denver to work as a conductor on the railroad again. Gonna miss my Houston Bro's for sure. we def need to have an ABC before I leave!1
what's up guys. my wife recently got hired by the cypress-fairbanks independent school district so i am moving back to texas (been in illinois since i was five). i was wondering if any of y'all could recommend some gyms worth looking into. not sure exactly where i'm gonna be livin, but it will be in the cy-fair area. right now the tentative move date is early july. thanks ahead of time. lookin forward to being part of the houston area abc!
Just trying to make everything bigger in Texas...

Hey Mickey, welcome. As far as the dedicated guys to this ABC we are pretty spread out. We are in Sugar Land, The Woodlands, League City, and I think Pantera lives in Houston more in the city. So we're pretty spread out. Most of us belong to 24hr, bleh, but we'll meet up at some of the other hardcore gyms like Monster Gym and Warehouse Gym and just pay the day fee. Pantera belongs to Houston Gym.
Well guys I did the pre-exhaust with my legs. I guess it worked since my wife says I look like I have something jammed up my butt when I walk.
D1sc1ple, when do you head back to CO? Pick the most convenient day and time for your last ABC and lets make it happen. In the meantime ya'll wanna shoot for a session on Sunday at 11 at a chosen gym?
Carni, I have discovered Warehouse Gym's website! It is very close to me as I live Inside the Loop! It could be my new home base gym or just for leg training. Sounds absolutely badass.
