Hey, we missed you today. Family is more important though and Chin and I boh respect you for being such a family orientated man. Just like today watching cartoons with your son. Family always comes first. You give us younger fellows someone to look up to.

Family comes first... Its the foundation which we can build on... Like I posted about Earlier I do my lifting for my family and then myself...
It was a good session... Like usual I realized Stiff is a little bit nuts... but you need a kick in the pants to get you going every once in a while. I want a tour of your gym... maybe when the temp gets above -15C... Deal?

There will be more chances to kill the iron together. Looking forward to that.
Chin it is a deal...once the warmer weather arrives...lol.
Well once again I had a little visitor come down the stairs to greet me this morning. Dad can we watch TV again? Not this morning little man, it is too early for you (5:00 am) and we have a busy day today, okay? Okay Dad, sleep sounds good. Are you working out? Yes I am. Totally unexpected the little munchkin says to me in a high pitch voice...light weight baaaaby! I had showed him the parody of Ronnie Coleman deadlifting 800 lbs the other night. Now my mind was in a great frame of mind to hit the weights.
BACK
Deadlift...10/8/6/4/3 - Pyramiding the weight, going for pounds verses Reps this time *
Close Grip Pulldowns (Reverse Grip)...12/12/12/12 - Adding weight on each set
T Bar Rows (Using a D Handle)...10/10/10/10 - Adding weight on each set
Bent Over Rows (EZ Bar with a Reverse Grip)...15/12/12 - Adding weight on each set
Super Setted
Standing BB Shrugs...15/12/12/12/12 - Adding weight on each set
Bent Over DB Laterals...12/12/12/12/15
Crunches...12/12/12/12/12
* On the last Rep I almost dropped the bar because I had a mental picture of my son standing there and saying...light weight baaaaby!
When my oldest (now 24) was about 4 he would come in the bedroom on occassion at some ungodly hour and whisper "Dad, wanna watch cartoon?". I would look at the clock and say "Eric, it is 3am, cartoons aren't on"
He would look at me with those sad eyes and I would get up and go with him to find cartoons on. In about 20 minutes he would be asleep, and I would be wide awake. That is one of my most favorite memories.

LMAO...I can relate with you on that one Lowdown5! One morning I finally found some cartoons on TV but when I turned around I couldn't find him. I checked the bathroom and he wasn't there. I checked his bedroon and he was once again nowhere's to be found. I heard some rustling coming from my bedroom and went to check it out. Well low and behold who was all comfortable on my side of the bed. LOL...what can you do.

You can love every minute of it. I would give anything to have that little 4 year old back for a bit. Just 5 minutes, damn I miss that.

Damnit, you guys are making me want children more and more. It is one of life's journeys that I am eager to depart on, but I am still young and have a lot of time to start.

Being a parent is the hardest job in the world because there is no right way to do it and no wrong way. You do your best and hope you don't screw it up. But I wouldn't trade it for the world.

I don't doubt that it is the hardest job in the world. It helps to have people to look up to, such as my parents and grandparents, but still the responsibility is yours. I just hope that I am up to the task when my time comes around.
I've been searching through some of the articles on the forvm to find some different approaches to my workouts when I came across one by Big Al...That Dreaded Day.
It is regarding leg extensions at the beginning of a workout. Basically you select a weight that you can easily get 10 reps. Then you increase the weight (20 - 30 lbs) so the next 10 reps are harder to complete. Next, increase the weight so you can only get 2 reps. Finally you drop back to the weight you did on the first set of 10 reps and pump out 20 reps. This counts as one set (10/10/2/20). Let me tell you this, after completing two sets of these, it greatly affected the remainder of my workout.
LEGS
Leg Extensions (performed as explained above)...2 Sets of 10/10/2/20
Squats...10/8/6/4/2/was targetting 20 reps here...completed 7 reps then had to drop the weight to complete the remaining reps to hit 20
DB Lunges...3 Passes of the yard - Performed outside
Vertical Leg Press (Utilizing the Smith Machine)...10/10/12
Leg Curls...12/12/12 - Slow, steady and held at top of motion
Hack Squats (Olympic Bar)...10/8/6/4 (Don't know what I was thinking here but I wanted to do Romanian DL's. Must have been because I was so giddy on how pumped my legs were feeling)
CALVES/ABS
Super Setted
Standing Calves - Smith Machine...15/15/15/15
Decline Crunches...15/15/15/15
Needless to say the leg extensions method of 10/10/2/20 are here to stay for a while.
