Ok guys... If i were to ask you say..what would be the moat important thing to consume straight after training, what would you say? 99.9% of ya are gonna say protein. I disagree! The right answer would be CARBS. Not any carbs im talking the best kind. Im talking Sweet potato and yams here.
After a 1-3 hr session your body is gonna be so depleted, so drained of energy etc the most important thing to do then is to refuel it, bring it back life and you do this by consuming certain types of carbs. Which in turn renders energy to your body and will being it back to that natural state, in which it is then able to process any PROTEIN. If you feed your body protein straight after a big session before you have re-energised it. It will simply use this protein as an energy source needed in order to even function in a basic level. GLYCOGEN is the Key word here bro. Should you really wanna maximise growth after a session.
Its always baffled me when you here in this industry," don't miss that important window after tour session.. You need to consume protein otherwise you your miss out on growth!"
To do this very thing causes you to miss out on growth. Your body doesn't need a chicken breast straight after training it needs carbs first in order to then process and utilise that chicken Brest. If not it goes hungry and is false to stay I'm a catabolic state till it has processed this chicken breast which of cause could be hours after you've eaten it.
My advice: blend up some Carbs such ad sweet potato or yams. This is the greatest of all carbs, followed if by the oatmeal. Blend some up and drink straight after training. You can then follow this up with a solid meal of protein within 30-45 mins latter. Another tip i learnt off of the big man Jay Cutler himself. Mix 6 big spoons of sugar in WATER. Your body will come back to life quick. Then it will be able to push those amino's in yo those torn muscle fibres.
Thanks guys
Journey well
