After some advice please people. 4 weeks ago I pulled the ligaments in the small of my back doing deadlifts incorrectly. Went to the gym again for the first time this morning, took things gently and only used light weights. Everytime I picked up a weight I was scared my back would go again but it didn't, even tried some deadlifts with really light weights. My question is what can I do to prevent my back from going again, (I know the obvious answer is do deadlifts properly), should I train my back more and will this help prevent it happening again. I am also really depressed as my stomach has increased and my weight has gone down by half stone in the 4 weeks I have not been to the gym. Would you advise going straight back to my 4 times a week split routine with lighter weights or is it a case of going really slow for a few more weeks ? Thanks in advance for the advice guys
