Doesn't matter bro, everyone has to start somewhere so if you ever want to come workout with us, just let me know.
We have light equipment too. Proper technique is more important to learn first. The heavy weights will come later.
Anybody on this Forum done this? This is the first time it is coming to the Pacific Northwest.
I've never done a race, nor do I want to do a 5K or anything like that.
But this thing would intrigue me because we get do to the obstacle courses during the 3.1 miles.
I'm thinking of wearing some ANIMAL shirts...Team Animal Pak has a nice ring to it! How about it? Is the HIGA MONSTER a "WARRIOR"?
Whats going to suck is that its the weekend after I compete in a 3 day contest in Gatineau, Quebec. Can you say, trashed?
Fuck it, I'm all in for this race! I'm gonna be hurdling over fire pits and shit!
HIGA MONSTER
That is crazy but your an Animal and you can do it
current stack for 2011
Animal Products: Pak -- Flex -- PM--and RAGE
Universal Products: Intra Aid -- Atomic 7 -- Amino Tech
Beef Aminos -- Pro & Oats
Rage Review
I’ve been a long time user of Animal products for 20 plus years. After being on RAGE for a week I’ve come to realize that “It’s not how big you are, it’s how far you’ll push yourself to the breaking point to get that last rep”… With Rage there are no more excuses.

Cool man! Hit my cell up when that weekend nears. I'm excited for the challenge, and it should be a blast!

Hey Higa, do you have the contact information for this. I train with a guy that wants to compete, but is having some issues finding the contact info for this competition. Thanks for posting it.

I am not the strongest nor the most talented lifter ever. I will never be either and i accept that. But i LOVE lifting in all its forms and shapes. I started out lifting PL style, loving it. I added some strongman training into it lately. Car and tractor pulling, logpresses (you may remember my custom painted log in another thread).
Lately i have been doing farmers walks for fun in the gym. Just db's, pick them up, walk. On advice of BrickbyBrick (Kellee) i started out pretty light. Last time i tried them i picked up 90lbs db's (our biggest and most awfull; thin and long handle) and walked them for 100 yards without much trouble.
So, my question: my brother is pretty good with metal and is offering to make me some farmers handles. I have seen some vids and comps and there appears to be no real set of rules for them. I have seen torpedo's, blocks...
Personally i think i need to make them a bit long, so they are awkward in turning. That is a big part of the walk, right? And i think a good starting weight would be 40-50kg? I will make them in such a way that weight can be added.
Any tips on form / shape / weight?
