Testing Animal Cuts with and without the red pill

Thanks to Universal/Animal, I will be getting two cans of the new formula of Animal Cuts to test out. The first three weeks I will take the whole pack, and the second three weeks I will be leaving out the red pill. In this journal I will be logging my workouts and diet everyday, along with how the Animal Cuts is making me feel. I'm also going to try and get some progress pictures. I will be starting this log the Monday after my powerlifting meet on August 15th. Can't wait for this.

Oh, and anything else naturalguy wants me to do or log, I will.

Alright got my 2nd can in, now it's time to write out the plan... Starting August 17th.

      Training:
      Monday-Back/Biceps
      Tuesday-Chest/Triceps,BJJ
      Wednesday-Legs
      Thursday-Shoulders/Traps,BJJ
      Friday-Arms
      Saturday-Off
Sunday-Cardio, accessory work (abs, calves, etc)

Abs and calves will be included throughout the week after my workouts.

Will be going heavy on the main lifts (6 and below rep range) to keep making strength gains.

Cardio will be included at least 4-5 times a week.

Diet: A rough outline of the diet, got a lot of ideas from the Iron contest...

Meal 1-cup oats, 5 oz cooked ground beef or 5 whole eggs, 3 whites, either some cinnamon sugar or peanut butter on the oats
Meal 2-5.5 oz cooked chicken or tilapia,1/3 cup uncooked brown rice (gotta figure out what it equates to cooked)
Meal 3-5.5 oz cooked chicken or tilapia,8 oz yam
Meal 4-5.5 oz cooked chicken or tilapia, green veggies
Meal 5-5.5 oz cooked chicken or tilapia, green veggies
Meal 6-Around 50 grams whey protein, 5 grams glutamine.. this will be my post workout meal, it will vary when it is in the diet.

If out of something for meal 2-5, I will replace it with 2 cans of tuna.

      Supplement Stack-
Animal Cuts obviously (1 can with the red pill, 1 can without)
Animal Stak (Stacking this with first can)
Animal M Stak (Stacking this with second can)
      Animal Pump
      Animal Pak
      Whey Protein
      Glutamine
Universal EAA Stack (for intra workout and intra BJJ)

I have a powerlifting meet October 3rd, right at the end of the 2nd can, so I'll be able to test myself and my strength levels during a cut. Goal for the October 3rd meet is to be 30 pounds more then whatever total I get next week at my meet.

This is going to be fun.

      Meet Report

I had a pretty good day today, was 25 lbs short of my goal, but we'll get to that later!

      Squats-
      430 .... very easy
475 .... real grinder, I got stuck in the hole and made my way through it, good lift, 15 lb meet PR
490 .... I stopped at parallel or just below, went up pretty smooth, good lift,30 lb meet PR

      Bench-
      285 ...pretty easy
305 ...for some reason, it took FOREVER for the press command when it was motionless on my chest, I got stuck about 1 inch from locking the damn thing out.
305 ...normal press command this time, good lift. one judge called me for head movement, I watched the video.. my head didn't come up off the bench at all

      Deadlift-
      425.. pretty easy again
480.. a real grinder that I pushed through, good lift, 30 lbs meet PR
505.. I went for broke, I needed it for a 1300 total and it wouldn't come off the ground. Next time!

      7/9, 490/305/480 1275 raw total @198.. 70 lbs total PR since April 25th.

I also got the Best Male Lifter Award, 6.47 times my bodyweight total.

Vids aren't too good looking, and I don't know if there are any decent pictures, but I will post them up later anyways once they are uploaded.

I am starting the Animal Cuts on Monday. I will have to settle for a regular multi that day because my stuff doesn't come in until Tuesday.

I know I posted a training routine earlier, but I made some tweaks.

This is how I will be training for my October 3rd meet

Going back to a split routine, I have 6 weeks to train, and the 7th week will be my off week.

Monday-Back, some biceps, cardio or GPP work
Tuesday-Chest,lockout work or some triceps, BJJ at night
      Wednesday-Legs, cardio
      Thursday-Shoulders/Traps, BJJ at night
      Friday-Bench (see below), arms, cardio
      Saturday-Off
      Sunday-Off
Abs, calves, forearms, and all that good stuff will be spread throughout the week.

On my back days, I will be throwing in rack pulls for ME work or reps, or I will do conventional style deadlifts that week. On my chest days I am going to follow 5/3/1 for bench, then continue onto a "chest workout". Leg days... Squats, squat accessories, and sumo deadlifts or accessories. I'll tailor these days for how I feel. One day may be RE squats with deficit sumo pulls, one day may be ME squats with DE sumo pulls, etc. At the upcoming meet there is a bench bodyweight for reps event for a cash prize. Fridays before my arm workout I am going to basically have a RE day for bench and work up to benching my bodyweight for reps. I will train with 205 for the first three weeks, (I will probably weigh in at 195ish). The goal is 20 paused reps with 205 at the end of those three weeks, and then 25 with 195 at the end of the next 3 weeks.

Got home from my workout and my Pak and Pump are in so I am starting them tomorrow. Also got EAA Stak in to drink during BJJ tuesdays and thursdays, and intra workout.

As for the Cuts, I felt more awake this morning then usual after taking the cuts. Nothing like super hyper, just awake instead of being groggy in the AM like usual. I noticed increased heart rate and sweating during my workout, especially the sweating. I always drink water and piss constantly throughout the day, so I don't know if it is affecting that at all. I still have to take cuts at 3pm, which will be an hour before work, and I am usually bored and tired at work so I will report on my "state of being" during work when I get home tonight. I think I'm going to have a great run with Cuts.

Little update for today, my last two meals didn't have broccoli, but had spinach. Cuts really kept me going during work tonight, it was slow as hell, and I wasn't even yawning all night like usual LOL. See you guys tomorrow

      Squats-135x10,245x5,add belt-330x5,add knee wraps-350x5,375x8(PR probably)

      Deficit Speed Sumo Pulls standing on 10 lb plate-135x5,225x1, add belt-3x1 315, 5x1 225

Leg Press superset Leg Extensions- 3ppsx25 ss 100x25, 2ppsx50 ss 70x50

      Stretched out

Had to use a belt more then usual today, my lower back was stiff from doing stuff outside earlier. The knee wraps felt weird as expected, walking the weight out is awkward at first, but I'll get the hang of it.

Didn't have a good day today, kind of just went through the motions. Taking this weekend off from lifting should be good for me.

Bench-warmup with bar,135x15,185x10,225x6,6 (paused reps), 185x14 .....this sucked

Close grip bench ss bb curls-185x10 ss 65x15,205x8 ss 75x12, 225x3 +1 assisted ss 85x10 ...now when you see me only get 3 reps on 225 for close grip instead of the usual 8, you know I need some rest!

Seated DB extensions ss incline DB curls-80x20 ss 25x12, 90x10 ss 25x12, 100x8 ss 25x12

      Skullcrushers ss db curls-65x15 ss 20x10 to 25x10 to 30x10, 65x15 ss 25x8 to 30x8 to 35x8, 65x15 ss 30x6 to 35x6 to 40x6

V bar pushdowns ss standing rope curls-120x10 drop 110x10 drop 100x10 ss 90x10 drop 80x10 drop 70x10.. did this 3 times

Preacher curls ss db kickbacks-65x10 ss 15x15.. 3 of these

      3x20 ball crunches

      Today sucked.

Tomorrow=rest, amino megadosing with EAA stack, gonna drink out of a 3 liter jug with 3 "heaping teaspoons" in it... gonna have about 3 of these tomorrow along with extra bottles of water.

      Diet/Supps:

      9:30 am-Animal Cuts
10:15 am-5 oz cooked ground beef, cup oats, cinnamon sugar, animal pak
12:40 pm-5 oz cooked chicken, 1/2 cup cooked brown rice.. pre workout
      1:15 pm-Animal Stak
      1:30 pm-Animal Pump
      3:45 pm-48 grams whey, 5 grams glutamine..post workout
      4:20 pm-Animal Cuts
5:45 pm-7 oz cooked tilapia, 7 oz sweet potato
7:45 pm-5 oz cooked chicken, broccoli
9:45 pm-5 oz cooked chicken, broccoli

EAA Stack intra workout, 3 "heaping teaspoons" in 3 liters of water throughout the night.

Without any added cardio then usual, I am looking a little bit leaner, especially in my upper body. Next week I am adding in cardio after every lifting session along with 2 nights of BJJ. Gonna weigh in sunday morning, the morning of my "cheat day".

Can't wait until tomorrow. Weighing myself in the morning to see what 6 days without changing anything but diet did for me on the scale. I'm looking a tiny bit leaner. I'm going to start incorporating cardio almost daily now to compare results from the cardio week and the non cardio week. Cheating on the diet tomorrow, but am going to go up to the gym to do the whole calves and cardio thing.
