2K10 is here and it is time to get huge. The ABCs are on the rise and set to blow up in the New Year.
Thanks to your support and the effort of ABC coordinators the world over, 2009 was a banner year for our young movement with more events, new members and greater interest in the Animal Barbell Club than ever before.
In Review:
In Jersey, we closed the year out right with an ABC gathering at one of Animal’s official homes—Diamond Gym in Maplewood, NJ. This hardcore haven hosted a banger of an event just before the December holidays and left all involved inspired to finish the year strong. One of the best gym owners in the business, Big Dwayne and his crew opened the doors to a group more than forty deep that included myself, Ox, Big Al, Vinny G, Enforcer, naturalguy, The Giant Killer, treetrunklegs, Aggression and Big Wides as well as local bodybuilding heavyweights like Rodney Roller. December also included ABC events near and far in Orlando, the Northern Cali Bay Area, a blowout Central Texas gathering hosted by Kuclo and the Metroflex Plano crew and my boy Wrath and Universal athlete Tony Searle attended a badass gathering in their native Ontario.
Looking Forward:
Leading up to our biggest annual event, our official ABC gathering at the Arnold Classic in Columbus, Ohio this March, we’ve hit the ground running in 2010.
Kicking the year off in my neck of the woods will be an event on Saturday, January 16th at 1pm, at my brother Big Al’s current home of hardcore, Total Fitness in Wilmington, DE. A couple of weeks later, the ABCs will roll into Philly for a gathering at another rising and serious spot, Fit Gym in University City. With dumbbells up to the 250s and an exceptionally well equipped facility, this event promises to be yet another epic ABC in the city of brotherly love. There is always a place in our heart for the many badass Philadelphia gyms like Body World and Greg Long’s and we look to add Fit Gym to that storied list. Be there on Saturday, February 6th at 1pm. January promises to be a killer month up and down the map with ABCs in Southern Cali, Houston, Colorado, Pittsburgh (with The House and new IFBB pro Seth Feroce in the mix), Cleveland and Toledo with the OG ABC crew outta Chi-Town also holding an ABC on February 6th.

“Another year in the books and another year to get bigger and better. The ABCs ended on a great note and the advancements from month to month have been great. It’s good to see people who share the same thoughts and the same beliefs throughout the world. January 2010 is a new start for many people, but for us, its just another day. We do the same thing day in, and day out, regardless of what the calendar on the wall reads. There are some good events coming up, and I urge anyone who has not attended yet, to step up and show up. Thanks for the continued support as usual and we’ll see you all soon.”
Resolutions aside, this is a time of great change and for tapping our collective vast potential. Do not let it go to waste. Tomorrow is never promised and each day we’re here to fight the good fight and strive for our dreams is truly a gift. What untold adventures and triumphs will 2010 hold? That is for you to determine.
