      As I have posted in threads for the previous years, there are several hotels where the Monorail will take you directly to the LV Convention Center, and it's only like $10/day for unlimited use. One of the cheapest hotels is the Sahara, and it's only blocks from the Center. As far as the competitions, they are offering free shuttle service throughout the day from the Convention center to the Orleans (where the comps are).

      For food, the Convention center has a decent food court, but w/the Monorail and the shuttles, you can hit many of the hotels pretty easily. Also, many of these same hotels offer a single price for eating ALL DAY at their buffets, ranging between $25 to $40/day. Pretty sweet deal.
