So the day before my wife made up some keto chicken enchiladas but we didn’t eat them because my son and the new g-baby were over late. So it was enchiladas and smoked chuck roast. Went together better than it sounds. Ate on it for 2 days. Lunch at work too

310 feeling heavy but I got it done. Warming up I felt like I could tear up th whole gym. Gotta get out of this funk. 310 should be repped out for @ 12. Got an appointment with my family doc this week. I’ll be getting blood work done for the first time in like 2 years.

Bloods will reveal any underlying issues. I get them done every 6 months for my TRT plus I recently had to get a term life insurance policy for my ex in case I die, she can still receive child support. The blood work from the insurance basically showed I'm FUCKING INVINCIBLE! Made me very happy to see that all my heart related levels were bulletproof.
How's your sleep? Also, watch the amount of caffeine you consume pre-workout. Caffeine has the propensity to jack up BP levels! It sends my systolic levels damn near to 200 if I'm not careful When you're BP is up, you just feel super tired and want to sleep.

Sleep has been OK. I have a list of possibilities in my head like BP, blood glucose, test level, kidneys, even cardiac issues worst case scenario. I don’t know. Probably over thinking it.

Last night my labs came in. My A1C is up and my T levels are skating the bottom edge of normal. So I got my answers to why I’ve been tired and recovery has been shit. Now I need to follow up.

Go keto for a while to reset leptin levels and re-sensitize your insulin levels. That will correct the lower T levels too!

My current journal goes back to March. I was only pressing 315x5 then too. Zero progress. Benched off the pins because I refuse to accept the current situation. Topped out at 315x2. I used to top out at 375x2. That wasn’t that long ago. Pin press felt good though. I think someone put Kryptonite in my gym bag

Saw my knee guy this morning. The chronic ACL tear has caused my tibia to track foreword and all the other tendons and ligaments have contracted effectively freezing it in that position. Again, this is chronic so it’s been like that for years. I squatted 538 in a meet with that. Then there’s the meniscus tears. Eventually I’ll need a total knee replacement. I can get everything fixed though. Recovery would be 9 months. The kicker is he didn’t sound confident that I still wouldn’t have problems after all that. The other option is just clean up the meniscus tears. He said I would walk out that day and recovery would be 2-6 weeks. That sounds better. Still have to talk to the wife. So continue to train upper body for now

WOW! That sounds nuts! I'd at least clean up the meniscus tears.
That’s what I want. I just need to figure out the when part. Not really having pain right now and I’m walking up stairs normally. Not sideways.

315 felt good for a change. I think the pin presses helped. Putting them back in regularly again. I was thinking about it and I was pressing 315x5 when I started doing pin press. That’s what launched me to 4 plates.
Examples of self limiting thinking
1. 315 felt good but I stopped at 5 reps
2. 315 felt good but I didn’t add weight to the bar and go for 5 more

I’ve been hitting 315x5 so 335x3 is kinda on par with that. The good thing about it is it’s getting me used to handling a heavier weight, so when it comes time to rep that, it won’t be a shocker. I plan on restarting the program next week. Pin press will be in the rotation. It’s really what took me from benching 315x5 to hitting 4 plates.
Part of my recent slump has been mental. I’ve gotten down on myself because of my injuries. Too much focus on what I can’t do. It’s time to kick the gym door down and burn the place to the ground!!! No more walking in like my dog ran away. I need to be ready for a fight. It’s got to be me vs me and me vs the iron again. Didn’t even use a pre workout today and I killed it. No more self defeat. Time for some aggression

took a week off. getting back on track here. hell, I might be doing a deadlift comp at the end of the month. I can't even remember the last time I pulled. I'd just be in it for the t-shirt LOL. bench was a little shaky. not acceptable. good thing things are starting out light. keeping disciplined and sticking to the program.
