I'm going out of town for a wedding this weekend so I won't hit the gym til Wednesday. Finished 7/5/3 week so I'll start 5/4/3 then. That part worked out good.

Last set today and this ass is going sideways between racks while I'm standing there with 385 on my back. WTF?!! Did my set and let him have it. I'm like what the hell? You're putting me at risk. He says "I know" so I so nicely said " so if you "know" then you must be a disrespectful asshole then, since you "know." He was also squatting. He had 185 on the bar half repping with a towel wrapped around the bar. Then that same trainer was having her client run laps around the gym while dragging her with a resistance band. This is Anytime Fitness. It's not big in there. It's a circus
Wtf. Don't know how you held it together man.
Lol should have thrown about 8 sets of curls in just to flex on the guy

I prefer heavy bench or squats just so they know who the big dog is.
definitely better than curls, those would have just annoyed the shit out of the guy.
Glad you are back, how was the trip?

Made myself go today. Feeling like I have to make myself move today for some reason. It didn't get better at the gym either. Sometimes that kind of crap works itself out but not today. I did the minimum and bailed.
Deads 5/4/3
185x5
225x5
275x3
350x5
360x4
370x3
360x5
370x4
380x3
Hopefully I'll snap out of whatever this is and make up for this tomorrow.

*great day except on this set some jack ass came between my bar and the guy next to me as we were both lifting. I'm getting sick of getting pissed at the dumb asses here. There was no attendant today. If there was they'd probably just be hiding in the office playing with their snap chat filters. I think I'm going to wallpaper the gym with gym etiquette flyers next week. BTW I just loved that I loaded 345 on my bar and crushed it after saying something to that guy. That was more than he can squat. I'm usually not like that and want to help people, but when you piss me off it's another story.
Squats Monday then I start 3/2/1 waves.

Watch your language. Be positive and constructive instead of negative. Lend a hand if someone needs help
Cleaning up is two-fold. Rack the weights AND wipe off equipment. If you're 'strong enough' to load the bar, you're 'strong enough' to unload it. The next person may not be able to use the equipment if he/she cannot lift the weight. Others can also get hurt trying to re-rack the weights. Leaving plates around isn't impressive - it's an example of shear laziness and disrespect towards others. You wouldn't go to someone's house and throw their stuff everywhere and then leave and I wouldn't want anyone to do that to my place either. It comes down to respecting others.
Very few people appreciate being watched by others while they train. Bare in mind that everybody starts somewhere and should not be mocked due to using a lighter weight.
Greet others when they're resting, not while they're lifting. Full conversations can wait until after the workout.
Not only is it intrusive and annoying, not allowing others to have adequate room can be harmful. Out of common decency and for safety, plain and simple, don't get in the way. Wait for them to finish their set to walk around them or put your plate away.
If you're going heavy, have someone there in case anything happens to go wrong. If you see someone who looks as if they are unsure about their next set, offer to spot. Once again, this is a matter of safety.
Either turn it off or put it away. Making calls not only impairs a workout, it distracts others from their training. Nobody is so important that they must on the phone for the 30-60 minutes in the gym
Give Courtesy and Respect and you will get Courtesy and Respect

Nice work on the bench Mike. Nice satisfying moment there with the 345 im sure, showing how its done by being assertive without being aggressive towards the guy.
I like your etiquette letter, but i think its a little wordy. Most guys may read it if they'e in line for the water fountain or something but i dont know that they would take time to read it other wise. Maybe bold the main points and cut out some of the explanations. you need not explain to them why it is good etiquette, if they dont understand that by now they probably wont learn, but they may follow simple instructions because the sign says so. i would leave in the stuff about being strong enough to load the bar means you are strong enough to unload it tho, humbles the reader a bit. I like that.
and most importantly walk around with the most intent and stern look possible on your face so that even if the disregard the sign they will not disregard your safety and will watch out when you are lifting.

I haven't posted it yet. I will simplify it though. Good suggestion.

5pps x10
6pps x8
7pps x6
Squats 5/4/3

Great day. I had more reps of 405 in me. Sometimes I feel like I should do the extra reps, and sometimes I think it's good to leave them in the tank and just do what's planned so I don't over do it.

Do you feel like getting some work on the leg press first gave you a nice warm up and helped with squats or do you think it took away from it? curious because sounds like this was a breeze

It may have helped me warm up. What I did on leg press was what I would have finished with and could have been heavier since I was fresh. Saved it for squats. I will say that the first wave always feels heavy, but then the second wave is nothing. Usually the third wave is work again, but yesterday was easy. Leg press probably did help.

Good day. Started real stiff and did lots of warm up stuff before touching the bar. Left shoulder pain on the laterals so I had to drop weight at the start of those.

It's interesting how we bring this to the gym. I think about you and Ed and weightsbefore, when I'm approaching the pressing. I really would like to press BW.

I'm about 50lbs away from a BW press. Adding 2.5lb planets to the bar each month helps. It's the slow and steady way to get there. Then go on IG and watch Dan Green do 315 for reps at 240lb WB and hate yourself LOL. Those guys are on another level.

3 waves. I doubt a 4th wave would have been successful and I didn't want to strain something. I did really good and dreaded today going in. Somehow I loosened up from squatting just 2 days ago and I feel great now.
BB row underhand
165x12
175x12
185x7 left shoulder pain
BB row overhand
95x15
115x12
115x10 again left shoulder pain
EZ bar curls
50x14
60x10

30x10
35x6
Done.
Really felt my neck injury on everything after deads. I did what I could but the muscle weakness is still there. I wish I could describe the pain. It's more from a lack of muscle than real injury pain. My neck feels OK, but the nerves are still shut down. I'm amazed I've built my bench up to where I have with almost no rear delt on the left.

Looking at those movements that gave you issues after the deads, are you holding your head up while performing them? just thinking that seems like one common string among the lifts afterwards would be the tendency to hold the head up rather than in line with the spine. perhaps that posture could pull on your neck? just brainstorming and wondering if theres a way to alleviate that pain
