Worked a bunch. Low energy today. The first set of 185 was ugly and heavy. The next 3 sets were better
Lots of work in here. How do you feel ohp vs seated as far a bench carry over? Just picked up an adjustable bench.this training cycle Going to sub in seated vs ohp.

I feel like the Carry over is the same. I just find standing more taxing on my lower back. When squatting and pulling too, I like seated just to give my back a break. Now I have this knee issue so I just stick to seated.

Saturday and today I’ve had the whole gym to myself. There must have been a competition this weekend. My shoulders were still beat up from Friday’s bench session. Cut it short today.
I forgot to mention that on Friday, on my last set of bench, I finished the set and there were people in the gym window watching me. Thought it was kinda funny.

Love it! That's so fun and fires you up knowing people are watching and you can't miss the lift!
Felt like I was unstoppable benching. I’m getting the bug to try to max out. I have one more cycle of this program to go. Probably after New Years.
Just reading this my rotator cuff shattered. What's your press speed and depth for your singles? Are you chest to lock-out-to-rack-to-reset? I've just started board pressing to help hurdle some sticking points. I was also surprised how much rear delt work helps "bending" the bar and staying locked in while pressing. Either way, having vicariously lived through your workout by reading, I have now died.
Curious what would happen if you tried board pressing 360 for 1/2 of your range of motion for one.....FULL SEND HOMIE

The rear delts also REALLY help get the bar initially off of your chest before the triceps kick in. Guys who go to Westside Barbell say the lifters there have cartoonish rear delts and back muscles, LOL! Louie really stresses the back as the primary support structure system for powerlifting as well as the core muscles (abs, obliques, low back).
I remember reading some of the Big Benchers peaking methods from back in the day at Westside They would do a PR to a 4 board, than 3rd attempt to a 3 board, 2nd attempt to a 2 board and 1st attempt to a one board. They would move down on the boards each week and get to where the 2nd attempt would hit the chest and would save 3rd attempts/big PR's for the platform as opposed to bringing them to the chest. This would allow for full peaking and would save the rotators. JUST REMEMBER they are also Pressing in Shirts, but still I imagine it would work for RAW too. Louie has plenty of RAW lifters now that hit BIG numbers! Saw a guy on their IG page that hit a Good Morning PR of either 800 or 900 and he brought it down pretty quick and POPPED right back up! COULDN'T believe it!

I have never tried board presses. We have boards but I usually train by myself. I like floor presses and pin presses to work on sticking points. I set my pin presses off my chest but they could be done wherever you have trouble. They also teach you to grind the bar up.
Rear delts and lats are important for bench press. Lats move your shoulders back and down, so they help hold correct position. When you unrack the bar you squeeze your lats as you bring the bar out. Once in position your lats should be nice and tight.

I have a bench block.i usually set ot to 2 board height. About 3 weeks into my training cycle i start 1 week board press and following week slighshot. Boards i will add 20lbs over my top raw set. Seems to help prime the cns for the heavier work coming in the cycle.

This I likes! Love the Benchblokz; especially, since I train solo. It can be used for countless variations.
I like how you're hammering it in a streamlined fashion. I need to borrow from this.

Still alive!!! I’ve been doing this program (simplest deadlift program) with my bench and OHP. I figure if you don’t learn from following a program then it was a waste. Applied the extra volume to my rows that day. Rows aren’t programmed in, but the extra volume is something I need. Bench as been great so why not?
