Nice legs and shoulder/triceps day Mike. Congratulations on the weight loss. You still feel as strong even with the numbers heading lower?
Thanks. Weights going slow and steady. Strength feels OK. I've noticed I was't as strong before when I had got down to 264, but then I had really cut down on calories. I'm still eating oats half the time for breakfast and eating rice all the time. Not sick of rice yet. I've cut out potatoes, pop tarts and any salty snacks. It's working but I know at some point it will stop. If I want to keep loosing I'll have to cut down on the oats and rice. I've been doing more cardio too.

How awesome is this FORVM where someone I haven't even met is rooting for me and has my back like this? Really I was just planning on doing my thing and not going too heavy a week or two out. But if you have any suggestions I'm open.

Wierd, I failed on the lift off on these. Usually I fail about 6-8 inches off the ground. I should be getting these by now. I pulled 455 at that ABC. I can't beleive I was >that< pumped up that I could do that. We used a sweet competition bar too, but that can't account for much, can it?

Cellard, bro dank numbers here, but you gatta think about when your at an ABC or even lifting with your brothers. There is an extreme energy by having everyone with you as opposed to just pushing the iron by yourself. I know if we were training, I would be screaming at you to get that 455. Props on even posting up on that shit. Even an attempt is a rep in my book.

Just you friendly neighborhood hype man. Here to motivate you. Get it.

So a couple things that will help you from here is knowing your 3RM for the three lifts. Most people will use that as openers to get on the board and build confidence for the day. I would tell you to do a week of 5Rm then 3RM then heavy singles take a week of deload then rehit 3RM next week hit a double then take the week before the meet off. Only workout wed and do all three lifts but only 135 for 3 sets of 5 of each to keep blood flowing and loose.
Nice dead work Mike! Do you think your 20 second static hold on the 405 hurt you on the other attempt? I know the first time I hit 405 I'll have my wife video that while I stand there for a bit.

I can drop it fast, but prefer to stay about 1 lb/week or even slower. I've found my strength doesn't hold up when I lose much faster.
As for salt I love it, when I was tested awhile back I had low sodium level (blood pressure real low too) so I pile it on. I figure it helps with everything your body does including athletic performance go for it. If you are worried about bloating or you have health issues then I'd watch it. Just my $0.02... I get almost as bitchy cutting out salt as I do when I cut back on breakfast haha.

This sounds good. I was going to take it easy next week and then I'll try to figure this out up to the meet.

I don't think my hold killed the next lilft since it was at the lift off that I failed. I pretty much have hovered at 275 and I think I'll try to stay around there for the meet since that's normal for me.

Could just be an off day for ya man, I tried 455 last week and barely got it up and I did 500 at that same ABC. I really do think the vibe at an ABC plays a huge role. I know you got 455 in ya again, the static hold may have not helped this go round. Hit it hard next week, no worries at all man. Strong looking session as well. I am up for some deads tonight, one of the guys from work is going to head down there to train tonight.

I wrote this on the top of my journal page. It was a dark day for me today. So many things to rage against. Today I simmered like a chunk of black charcoal and bent the iron to my will. There's that energy you get at an ABC, and then there's that dark pit in your soul that just won't be stopped. I was totally in my zone. The plates stacked up. People were watching me. I threw that shit on my fire too. Who the hell are they? It's my fight. It's my struggle. I drew a line in the sand for myself and decided there's no going back. I will not cross that line into failure. And I won.

Had a spot for 385 and 405. The 225 sets were explosive with the bar trying to fly out of my hands at the top and a nice slow decent.

WOW 405 is one hell of a Bench! Congrats on a PR and a milestone!
Seriously though still not a bad session. Last time you hit 405 did you hit depth? Until I could 'feel it' I had my wife stand behind me and shake her head if I didn't go deep enough. It's tough when your using 85%+ of your 1rm and you have someone shaking her head at you haha.
What are you aiming to hit at your meet? Best of luck man!!!!
