GOOD MORNINGS on the SSB:
390 lbs x 8 reps x 3 sets
BENCH PRESS:
385 lbs x 3 reps x 4 sets
I've been noticing that my left arm is not pressing as much as my right and kind of "helicoptoring" while I hold the bar.
The gym owner and I discussed that he thinks I'm not strong on my Scapular and that's why it's not setting the bar tight on my chest. Need to work on this and improve it.
FLYES:
10 reps x 5 sets
DEADLIFTS (no belt all sets):
500 lbs x 5 reps x 4 sets
Had to call an Audible and workout today on a Sunday morning.
Got a 2 hour meeting at work early AM tomorrow, so I wouldn't be able to train tomorrow before work.
Animal Fury (pre)
PVC roller
Hip Circle
SQUATS:
Worked up to 655 lbs x 1 x 3 sets
Instagram video of all 3 sets.
Yeah I know it's slow out of the hole but honestly, that shit felt light on my back. So I just gotta hit it like I usually do and just grind. https://www.instagram.com/p/BUXMHJ3D...amonster&hl=en
PAUSE SQUATS:
515 lbs x 2 reps x 2 sets
GOOD MORNINGS on the SSB:

BENCH PRESS:

Dropped the weight a little after that 1st set cause elbows were bugging...
385 lbs x 3 reps x 3 sets
DEADLIFT (no belt all sets):
510 lbs x 5 reps x 4 sets
Circuit CHEST FLYES, then ONE ARM DB ROWS, then DB SIDE LATERALS:
10 reps each exercise x 4 sets
That's an absolutely insane day of training!!!! Were you just dead all day after? LOL! I imagine it took a good 2-3 hours. Impressive as always.
Yeah man, the Mondays are the worst day of the week.
But it kinda feels good to know that my back is strong enough to Deadlift after all that training. I'm really excited to see what I pull at IPF Worlds.
7 days left till I fly to Minsk, Belarus for IPF Classic Raw Worlds.
Best of luck brotha
"Ask yourself this: if everyone else is training once per week, what are you doing that's so different that you would expect to get better results than anybody else? You might have good genetics, be tough enough and disciplined enough to train hard... but so are a lot of people." - BOSS
"I think I must be overtraining"... no, you're just a pussy - Machine
2nd place overall at "IPF Classic Raw Worlds" (Minsk, Belarus)
I placed 2nd overall and won the Silver Medal for Team USA in my first World Championship for Master's Men M1 120+ kgs class (40-49 years)
Also won medals for each individual lift:
Gold Medal for the heaviest Squat 310 kgs/683.4 lbs
Bronze Medal in the Bench Press 202.5 kgs/446.4 lbs
Bronze Medal in the Deadlift 322.5 kgs/711 lbs
Team USA also won the "Best Men M1 (40-49 years old) Team" trophy and the Team USA Head Coach Paulie Steinman told me that he wanted me to bring it home for my performance. And since I was the eldest Master M1 on the team. I was truly honored.
Thank you all for your support, I appreciate it and proud to say I'm the 2nd best in the World.
Makes me hungry to set a new goal and get ready for USAPL Raw Nationals in October (Orlando). Then get ready for Worlds in 2018 in Calgary, Canada.
Animal Pak,
You guys have been in my corner for the past 7 years. Thank you for being my sponsor and allowing me to compete representing your Company. You don't know how many lifters came up to me and said, "Higa, your a legend in the Cage".
Lifters from Iran, Lebanon, Japan and the UK. Kind words like that humble me to know that I have that kind of impact around the globe.
That's what sets us apart...Animal Pak Athletes shine even when we don't want the recognition. We just let our lifts do the talking.
I am extremely grateful. Thank you Animal Pak for allowing me to reach a long time goal that started in 1992.
Standing on the podium while the Star Spangled Banner was playing with fellow USA teammate & gold medal winner, Jaisyn Mike...is something I will never forget. We were the top 2 Masters SHW lifters in the world. How fuckin cool is that?
