Some of you may remember my previous journey threads; but then again, it's been so long since I posted here you may not. There for a long while, life was a lazy river. I was training every day, eating right, doin' my thang. This year, I hit some whitewater rapids and it all went to shit. I used every excuse I could find. I wasn't training, I was eating fast food 3-4 times a week, and I was stressed the fuck out every single day for the better part of a year. My body now shows all the signs that I neglected myself for a year. My gut is big, my joints ache, and I don't do shit unless I have to because I'm tired as hell all the time.
Yesterday, I went to the gym for the first time in a long time. That shit felt SO good! I've been eating decent for a few meals every day, so it wasn't a total loss...I'd just always end up eating shit for dinner. Last night it was an eye round steak, rice, and some fresh green beans. This morning I had an english muffin with 3 slices of canadian bacon and 1 whole cage free EB egg. Steps in the right direction.
Here is yesterday's Leg Day:
Warm-Up:
3 sets of 15 for both Leg Extensions, and Lying Leg Curls.
V-Squat:
4 sets of 12, last one was real slow to get that pump going.
Sled Calf:
200 x 25, 20+5
DB Romanian Deadlift:
35's x 15, 15...last set nice and deep, legs were shaking the whole time.
"Ham/Glute Bridges": I couldn't think of anything else to call them. Foot/Feet on bench, bridge up using hams/glutes.
2 sets of 15, used only 1 leg when I could.
"Switch Ups"- Think, explosive step-up, switch legs, step down. Did this on the bottom bleacher in the BB Court.
2 sets of 12 reps per leg.
SM Standing Calf: Off an aerobics step to get a better stretch.
135 x 20, 15+5
Back to the Leg Extensions:
3 sets @ 125 x 10
I better hit up the cardio and abs today, and really get this ball rolling again.
