      I can confirm your sentiment on the latter portion for sure. I'm riding this train and have accepted the long route vs. pushing and having to deal with the unavoidable repercussions of my decisions. ;)

      Just part of life! That's when I realized and understood why top lifters would always say to start out young. It is definitely a younger man's sport for sure. Just something we gotta face as we grow older!

      Glad we were in it when the RAW movement was full steam ahead! Can always say that at least.

      It'll always be a damn shame that no one could get it together and make RAW Powerlifting a legitimate sport. All it would have taken was for everyone to get behind one legit Fed and follow the old YMCA number standards for lifter qualifications to apply. Would have given serious street cred to Powerlifting with those requirements! Look em up, it'll just show how soft our more recent generations have become.

      Thursday: 1/13/2022 - Shoulders

      Hit this Thursday! Felt goooooooooood! Shoulders were nicely pumped and looking cannonballesque.

      Woke up Friday and morning and worked from home. Head was pounding and my nose was running AGAIN! Was worried I was getting possibly another sinus infection so I took it easy all weekend. All kinds of stuff floating around right now from sinus infections, flus, stomach flu/bugs, common cold (omicron), etc. My nose was stuffy for 2-3 damn weeks not even a few weeks ago and I WAS NOT going to get sick again! GEEZ!

      I had been good for like 2 years but since Septemberi have had 4 bouts of congestion and hacking.First one held on for like a month.

      Haha! Thank you good sir! Really enjoying hitting up cardio and my accessory training days.

      The accessory training days are almost like a relief for my body. I'm able to hit base building small muscle groups and get in good conditioning. Has been helping my tendon strength/inflammation and has REALLY been helping keep the soreness down!

      It's never fun! Glad I rested up last weekend, because I'm not sick =)

      Thanks! Not my strongest weights, but training has been not nearly as often as I'd like. If you wait too long between sessions, you'll drop strength. I continue to remind myself, strength is no longer the focus! Getting and staying healthy/lean is the focus for a while. It's a bit of an ego check, but since I'm not so young anymore, its becoming easier to accept and I'm actually feeling more rested between training sessions! I chalk that up as a win.

      Update

      STILL ALIVE I SWEAR! Just have had waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much going on. Good news is, I'm still keeping my bodyweight closer to 260. Need to stop being lazy and get back to it!

      I'll hopefully have some energy after my ex gets the kiddos tonight from me. Wanting to get in some cardio. Will hit Chest tomorrow! Also, going to figure out how to get training in at night after putting the kiddos to bed. THAT will be tricky because they like to stay up when they're with me =) Plus I'm wore out at the end of the evening LOL! Gotta figure something out because I cannot keep missing training and cardio.       Are you serious?!?!

      Had some spicy Mexican food here at work aaaaaaaaaaaaand let's just so I reacted strangely. First thing, MY BP SHOT UP! Really???? Also (as I anticipated) it messed with my IBS a bit but not bad (that's usual with spicy foods).

      I was hungry and it was tasty so I kept eating! I knew better.

      *This really is getting WEIRD with my health! May just end up hitting some cardio or having an accessory day. Haven't made up my mind but this is ANNOYING!

      Spicy food is supposed to lower your BP. You’ve just been labeled a medical anomaly, or freak for short LOL

      Seriously though, there’s a lot of things that regulate your BP in your body and just as many BP meds. There’s usually some trial and error involved in finding what works for you. Eventually you’ll get it hammered out. Plus you’ve been having a lot of stress that’s not helping

      Yes sir, been a long road! I do believe I've uncovered the culprit and have already started feeling better.

      FINALLY got some training in last night! Felt AMAZING! We've had some freezing weather, than it's heated back up and been raining, now we are getting an arctic blast soon. Been making a lot of people sick lately. The constant up and down pressure changes also mess with your energy levels too. NO EXCUSES THOUGH!!!!!!! I'm getting f00kin JACKED SON!!!!!!!!!!!!! Nothing will stop me now that I'm FINALLY over this BP bullshit.

      Felt GREAT to get some training in! Been busy as hell and I do believe I FINALLY have my blood pressure situation under control! Pump was wicked. Loooooove when I haven't trained a muscle group in a while and I hit failure, my muscles shake when training and I'm so pumped I can't flex my muscles!!!!!!!!! Blasted some thrash metal and went nuts =) Always fun to train when it's raining outside too!

      Looks like we are getting an arctic blast tomorrow evening and the cold air will last a while. Been cold lately, warmed up a bit (explains the rain) and now we will get some low temps in the 20's!!! I'm talking possible feel like temp in the teens here!!! When it gets that chilly, everyone in the mega city of Houston will be indoors. Call us wimps if you want, LOL but we are more primed for heat not extreme cold. Always fun and cozy to blast the heater and flip the fireplaces on =)

      Training Update

      No training yesterday! BP shot up to 183/95 =\

      Really going to push myself to get in an accessory day today after my ex gets the kiddos at 7:00 this evening. No more bullshitting, even if my head is pounding I NEED to AT LEAST get in some cardio! Gotta get the weight down. It's the only option left, been popping various BP meds like skittles lately!

      Health Update

      GENTS! My doctor and I have FINALLY pin pointed what's causing my BP to spike. Yesterday, it was up to 200/110!!!!!!!! Got a new med that is really helping. Made me feel a bit funky today but that is just my body readjusting back to normal.

      The arctic blast hit last night and it's been raining ever since! Stopped for a bit back looks like it will pick back up! High is 39 low is 26 with feel like temp not far off from singles digits! Roads may freeze but I don't think it'll snow but who knows. It's fun having real seasons though =)

      *Regarding training, plans have been all over the damn place! Had an open house at my kids school after work today and that was cancelled due to the weather. Was going to go to Heaven aka South Texas this weekend from Sat-Mon, but one of our guys is getting sick (plus I'm not exactly feeling great myself). Not to mention 3-4 guys are out at work one having covid and the others having colds. So from today thru this weekend my schedule may just be wide open for once! =) If my dumbass BP would just cooperate and I don't catch a cold so I could have some FRICKIN ENERGY, I'd be back to my old lunatic self!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LET'S GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO DAMNIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
