My name is Josh and this is my Joirnet. Stay tuned because I promise this is one you'll wanna keep an eye on. For the past few years of my life I've been piecing together my life within and out of this sport. I'm only 23 so you can imagine all the choices in life up to this point in the last few years. Leaving high school, what college to go to, run track in college? What major. Living on my own. Paying all my bills instead of some lol... Well in a nutshell since I left high school, I've been hitting the weights much harder even if I had no idea what the hell I was doing in the beginning. Shit, I'm still learning. I lifted through high school but that shit was a joke. I can say I Atleast learned all my basic movements from high school...
So my venture began right out of high school basically and I had no idea where my life was going. Who ever does? I moved up to my current city for college (Springfield, MO) meanwhile lifting and training. No set routine or diet AT ALL. I changed majors twice not knowing what the fuck I wanted to do. I had always been a good student until all these extra life choices presented themselves and then all of a sudden school blew. Meanwhile still lifting... Lifting got progressively more advanced and I got smarter and slowly started training harder over the couple years through school. So 3 years of school down, some good some bad, and I finally KNOW what I wanna do. Almost seemed too much like common sense at this point. I wanted to share my knowledge and passion with others. I became a personal trainer certified through NASM almost 2 years ago. This is when the fire of my knowledge and passion started getting larger. Always reading something, always learning something new. Training intensity was always hitting an all time high. The one area I always lacked was diet. I just took the least interest out of it all. Somewhat knowledgeable but far from being good... Little more background: I graduated high school at 165 lbs wet in 2007. When I got certified and got the job as a trainer I might have weighed around 190 in April 2010. This is with no kind of consistent diet at all and stupid young habits. well as time
Passed while being a PT, I had my own goals. Going from 190 to 200 and being able to to do this or that. I started getting smarter with my diet. Consistency picked up but far fom good by any means. Well in a year and a half roughly I went from that 190 to 230 with dirty dieting. Wasn't that clean of a weight but nonetheless, I was learning the reigns. In the midst of all this I got hooked into bodybuilding and became inspired by the Animals. I decided to do my first show which I'm prepping for now. Diet is finally on point. Training intensity is at an all time high and smart at the same time. I have hired a prep coach for dieting and most of the other prep purposes. My training is my own. His words are "You know what the fuck your doing"... I'll tell you guys watch out for this man coming up in the ranks. John Gorman has a very unorthodox way of dieting but VERY effective. This guy knows what he's doing. Far from unhealthy of course.. I'm honored to be invited to his team. The team currently has 7 natural pro's and looking like maybe a couple others pulling for their pro card this year.
So the intensity and more detail will come later. I'm currently just under 12 weeks out from the WBFF Central US Championships in KC, MO. Roughly 7-8% BF at just over 200 lbs and 6'0 tall. My passion is bodybuilding but I'm at a crossroads right now because I'm not PERSONALLY heavy enough to want to walk on stage for bodybuilding so I'm actually doing the category Muscle Model in May.
Most of what I post will be broad info about the detail for respect of my coach. My diet currently is 2800-2900 calories.
90 some odd grams of fat
Little over 200 g of carbs
Around 300 g of protein
With a refeed of high GI carbs once a week. Yes I'm getting shredded while eating poptarts, pancakes and shit ;)
My current split is: Legs, Back, Chest, rest, shoulders, arms, rest, repeat. Doing fasted cardio 6 days a week... The diet is spot on and results are coming perfectly actually. I must say I'm
Extremely excited and more motivated than ever. There's nothing left but to feed the burning fire inside now.
Look out, I promise I'll be one to watch for. This sport comes second to one thing and that's my girl. This is my life and I won't have it any other way.
Currently: today is chest. This weeks leg workout went amazing, refeed went well and back was good yesterday. I'll post some pics up a little later today.
