Alrighty, Brief story (I posted in the intro section)
I was in a bad car accident about 7 months ago, and haven't been able to lift anything other than during rehab for the last 7 months.
I'm an Exercise Physiology major in my senior year in college.
I plan on doing body building, but at first.. I need to establish some strength again. My lifts are going to suck at first, but if life (or a huge truck) knocks you down.. you just gotta get back up!
Working on a modified 5x5 power lifting setup that will be doing 3 full body work outs a week (mon wed fri) with A B A first week, B A B second week, and so on.
I'm starting at really low weights and progressing up to my "working weights" which suck anyway right now.. for the first few weeks, just so i can get my body used to weight lifting again.
Wish me luck! I'm keeping this mostly to keep myself accountable, to be honest ;)
Today:
5'8
181 lbs
~20% body fat (ew! I've never been this fat!)
age: 21
It's on!
----
Stretched out for a good 15-20 minutes, I feel like im already getting back to where I was flexibility wise (I used to be able to do a split.. heh.)
Chest Dips (reduced w/ assist machine)
80 lbs lbs (-100) x 5
90 lbs x 5
100 lbs x 5
105 lbs x 5
110 lbs x 5 Easy as well, my tendons feel a little sore since they aren't used to this.
Squats:
45x5
55x5
65x5
75x5
85x5
Easier than I though. Getting my ROM back, I used to be extremely flexible.... I can get deeper than I thought I would be able to. Being safe about this, started stupid low (a bar! hah!) and working my way up.
Barbell Row.
45 x 5
60 x 5
70 x 5
80 x 5
80 x 5 - The positioning felt a bit awkward, my pelvis has bad flexibility, so a neutral spine was a bit weird. Getting used to the motions again!
DB Press: (per hand)
25 x 8
30 x 8
35 x 8
40 x 6
45 x 6 Easy enough, gonna move up more weights next time. taking it easy first day.
2h KB swing (I love kettlebells, I cant help it!)
12kg/26lbs x 8 swings
20kg/44lbs x 8 swings
20kg/44lbs x 8 swings - getting used to motions again, been doing really light KB work for rehab, I miss swings! I should be up on these quick, doing 6 swing heavy sets..)
Thanks for looking! I cant wait to look back and laugh at these puny weights!
