What to eat pre-workout when you get up at 4:30AM

Any suggestions on what to eat this early in the morning before I head to the gym? Only thing I do now is a Pre-workout drink.

Maybe a scoop of whey and peanut butter? Maybe those mixed with some oats in a blender? Lately, I've been doing 1s iso whey along with my shock therapy preWO.

When I trained in the morning I would wake up & pound 16oz of gatorade, some uniliver & a piece of fruit(if I was real hungry) before my eyes were fully open. 15 minutes later I would down preworkout. Dont overlook nutrition the night before though, I feel that is very important. I would always get a solid meal in 1-2 hours before bed & something like milk, cookies & uni 30 mins before I fell asleep.

Why eat anything? Pre workout and some Animal Nitro is great. I take that at 5:45am then hit the gym. If you want have some OJ with Rage that always worked well for me as well. If your worried about what your body will use for energy as long as you ate well the day/night before you should be all set.

Personally, I cant workout on just a protein shake and some fruit, I need to have asolid full meal in me to have any kind of productive workout, especially if its that early in the morning. Try cooking up a full meal like you would any other meal for breakfast the night before then throw it in the fridge so its ready for you to pound down as soon as you wake up

I've got 2 options I use, depending on how I'm feeling:

      1. 3 eggs and spinach
      2. Rage and Nitro

I only started doing Rage and Nitro when I woke up still feeling stuffed from my last meal the night before - went to the gym running on the Rage, popped my Nitro and then went off like a man possessed. Probably my best workout in a long time!

Just play about and find out what makes you feel best. No matter what you do there'll be someone out there who'll say you're doing it wrong because it's not what they do.

Boom. Right here. I'm up at 5am, gym 530, and I don't eat anything.

I do take 1 scoop eaa stack/1 scoop bcaa intra, and nitro post... then my normal diet starts when I get home.

I did this during my offseason and now Im doing it while Im dieting down, this year I have my best physique yet.

If you think about it, the food you eat preworkout hasn't had time to digest and convert to energy, so it has nothing to do with the energy you have during your training session, it's the food you have consumed in the days prior to a session that is giving you the energy. Taking a scoop of whey and then hitting the gym does nothing for that training session except stave off hunger, which I don't have an issue with training on an empty stomach, but I have definitely worked with people who do have this problem... it just depends.

      I train at 5AM and here's what I do:

Option 1: 1 scoop whey protein + .5 serving vitargo, 10 g BCAAs with extra Leucine, 5 g creatine usually prepared the night before and sitting in the frig

Option 2: 1 universal nutrition proteon bar or a bar from another company (not sure if I can mention that on here)
