My entire training life I've tried to do my post workout shake immediately after hitting the weights. This last year I've added on about 20 minutes of cardio on to the end of my workouts. Is it better to chug my shake right after the weights but before cardio, or to finish the weights and the cardio, then take my shake?
I figure continuing to have a shake right after the weights would be best for maximizing the nutrition effect and the insulin response for muscle building and not fat storage BUT on the other hand, I wonder if taking it immediately after, but before cardio blunts the fat burning and makes the cardio less effective?
Any suggestions? Thanks.
