I hit a 500# DL at a local unsanctioned meet run by Tee "Skinny Man" Meyers today in Snellville, GA. I had hit it at the National ABC last week in Columbus, but this was my first time doing it under contest conditions with fairly strict judging. I missed my third attempt which was 545#. Probably should have gone for 520# instead but I've always made 45-50# jumps in the few meets I've competed in. I'll be posting that failed attempt to get some critiquing from everyone once I get it sent to me.

Back of nights shifts - small amount of sleep overnight but not enough, tired today!
Squats
90 for 3 * 5
135 * 5
180 * 5
225 * 3
265 for 6 sets of 2. < 60 sec rest
OHP - not feeling a PR today
90 * 8 two sets
110 * 5
135 * 2
145 * 5 - not near 8 but there is always next time!
Dynamic bench - no slingshot
135 * 5
180 for 6 sets of 3 - around 30 - 45 sec rest
200 for 2 sets of 3
Easy weight. Just working on form and not aggravating shoulder issues. 'Max' will be done later in the week, whether reps with slingshot or a heavy rep with the slingshot or an alternative exercise such as floor press. Just don't know yet.
Bb curls
100 for 3 sets of 10 - 12
And out. Feel good, feel weary. Going to plan my approach for the next few weeks - want to keep my daily squats, two light/med with one heavy/rep. Light/med squat day will have dynamic bench and OHP one day and 'max' bench the other day with the slingshot if required to save my shoulder.
I tend to work better with a target, rather than 'work up to something heavy'....so a little thinking will be required :-)
My journey to a 1000 total from a beginner....achieved!
ok so my slingshot came in the other day and my first using it I was able to do 2 sets of 5 with 315(90% of my max), 365x1, 385x1, and just missed 405x1, MARK BELL and the team that invented the slingshot are geniuses. this product rocks!!!!!
Couple weeks ago I cracked my back along the L4/L5 region which is where I have an injury from 7 years ago. Took a week off from squats, got a massage and thought I wouldn't get close to a PB I set myself for the end of this month. Goal is to squat 180kg(396lb) with no belt, wrist wraps or knee wraps by the end of March. I was feeling pumped for my squats, I got to 170kg(374) but second guessed myself. I started thinking 180kg was too much so I went for 175(384) just to be safe and smashed it easily. I'll give 180 a go this friday/saturday.

Thank you.
Ouch man. You guys with the injuries motivate me more than anything. Yes, I have a handicap, missing an arm... but these back injuries and coming back. Hell man.. I can't imagine getting the courage up to do it after a spinal injury. Hates off to you.
