“I realized early on that success was tied to not giving up. Most people in this business gave up and went on to other things. If you simply didn’t give up, you would outlast the people who came in on the bus with you.”
Thanks man. I'm not sure if I'll try to go much heavier. I think the next goal will be to move on to reps with it.

The goal today was 10 total reps, no matter how many sets it takes, with 90% of my 1RM. So I loaded 405 on the bar and went for it. Ended up doing it in three sets; 4/3/3. The last 3 reps were my best reps of the 10. This beats a previous PR where I had a similar rep scheme for the 10 reps but used 390lbs bar weight. So its basically a 15lb PR.

Hell yea man, I’ve done that before on bench, and it always gets intense when going for a rep total!
Hit another 40 lb PR, this time on squats at 445x1. Been trying to train mostly submaximally lately, and it’s cool seeing it pay off at peak time.

Nice work man! That's my next bench goal; 405 for 10

Awesome man such a big lifetime PR!
Isn't it crazy how awesome something like that can make you feel. Only someone who lifts could understand the high you get from that kind of accomplishment!

Breaking into that 400 club was one of the best feelings for me. I remember at the time the only other guys at my gym that could do that were monsters...therefore, I felt like monster!!
How do you expect to run with the wolves at night if you spend all day stuntin with the puppies?
Last meet: 539/330/623//1493 @ 220: USPA Sunflower State Games 7/15/17 (Classic Raw)
Next meet: December 2017 - USPA in KC, MO - 1540 @ 220 or 198. Kansas City ABC
Not sure when I've really ever done this before, but reverse band deadlifts up to 903x1 with a medium band that completely runs out at the top of the knees
Also, where is everybody at on this thread? Did everybody stop lifting??

No PR's for me at the second. Backed down a tad from pushing it pretty balls-to-the-wall last several months. Aiming for one in the next 2-3 months though. To be continued, lol

Currently at the beginning part of a new training cycle! PR's soon enough my man.
This was a PR double, even though I had a lot more in the tank. I was pulling on a combination of 45's and comp kg plates, so the bar was a bit more flexible than usual, but I'm preparing for a big deadlift in the animal cage, and that means lifting on standard 45's and 100's, which flex a lot more than comp plates. Definitely an advantage if your form is good.

You sticking with conventional for now, or are you gonna start working the sumo back in?
I hit a little reverse band PR the other day, myself...went 635x5 on a setup I’d only tripled before, then 685x2.
Nice! sounds like a big PR then with the 685 double.
I'm going to be pulling conventional in the Animal Cage this year and probably at my first meet 4 weeks after that, although I'm torn because I'm stronger conventional right now but I have a harder time setting my grip in due to a lack of external rotation in my left shoulder (the underhand arm). I'm trying to address it, but it doesn't present the same problem for sumo since I can get my grip between my knees...for whatever reason that helps. So I'm torn at the moment basically

Well thanks to your “ok, let’s add more weight” I hit two sumo PRs yesterday in Fayetteville lol. Most I had ever done was 420 x 2. So the 2 sets of 5 @ 405 was definitely a rep pr. And the 475 sumo block pulls was also a PR. I told my wife “When Dan Green tells you add another plate, you do it” lol
