I felt really good yesterday and wanted to really push myself. Got greedy and instead of my sensible weight jumps I went for the big 500 and only got 2.5 Reps. I than dropped down to 480 and was fatigued and only got 2.5 Reps. OH WELL! I wanted that big weight and still got two clean Reps!
No hate, dead serious question. Do you ever do any full contests style movements or do you always stick with bands, boards, ect? I'm not familiar with too many PL training methods, just a question.

I am responsible for what I have and will become, I am accountable for what I will or will not accomplish. I believe in myself, I bow to no man and my only critic of any consequence has walked every mile of this journey in my size thirteens. " - G. Diesel

No problem! Define contest style movement.
Every Bench movement on my Max Effort training days are Conjugate Variations of the Bench Press. On Dynamic Effort days it is quite a bit different, but it touches my chest and goes back up if that is what you're referring to.

Ahh ok ok, just wondering. Before the meet will you test your openers at all / how do you know where you will stand with that? Or do you continue with your max effort / dynamic effort days all the way up?

Brandon Lily and Henry Thomasson have an interesting Circa-Maximal approach to the contest which I will use. It goes like this:
3 Weeks Out: Get in Shirt and work up to taking Opener to a 1 Board, 2nd Attempt to a 2 Board and 3rd Attempt to a 3 Board.
2 Weeks Out: Get in Shirt and work up to taking Opener and touching chest than shut it down:
1 Week Out (week of): Rest or perform light accessory work.
I am going to give this a try at my Gym's Bench Competition in two weeks from this Saturday. Even though I need a full three weeks I only have two, but I will replace the 2 Weeks Out strategy above in place of my DE Session on the Tuesday leading into the competition on Saturday.
I'm wanting to test my shirt in a competitive environment, that's all.

Good work son
As always =) I've grown tired of tiny dicked, minions posting double digit IQ commentary on my vids simply because they are green with envy. Fuck em all, not worth my time as they seem to have way too much of it.
Isn't that fun? It gets me fired up. Gotta love the non-skid deadlift slippers otherwise I would run into the wall! LOL! How AWESOME would that be?

Hit the flat DB press with 140's for a set of 10, then a 2nd set of 11! Rep and a 2nd set PR! Last time I tried them I only hit 1 set x 8!

I don't post my PR much in here but last night was pretty sweet one, here is how my bench workout went.
Flat bench raw:
135x10, 135x10, 225x8, 315x6, working sets- 365x4, 405x2, 455x2, 500x1, 510x1 felt good stoped their for now.
Threw on Titan Super Ram and wanted to test the waters today:
500x1, 545x1, 585x1, and 600x1 (felt crazy to actually feel this weight in my hands, I loved it. Also the spotter were all very cautious due to the amount of weight and only having a Ram on. So at one point they reach for bar but pause it a 42 seconds and you can see they didn't help, either way i hate when they even reach for the bar, lol. But either way huge PR with overload work with Ram)
