To Ragin Asian point, my wife had a blast at the Cage and the ABC. She really liked watching massive weight being moved, and hearing the athletes speak. She did say it would be nice if at all possible to have some women lifters perform, and like you said maybe some gear targeted more at the female lifters.
She would've really liked the TV screen idea, as it was hard for her to see the lifts in their entirity. I was able to see them, but I'm a bit taller than most.
As for the crowd at the ABC, assuming the people coming to the ABC will keep growing year to year which I'm sure they will, I'm against limiting the number of FORVM member or general public either. Whether we need to go to another, bigger gym, or hold the ABC across multiple gyms I think it would be beneficial. As Ragin Asian said I have no idea what the deal Animal has with Metro Fitness and I don't want to be disrespectful of either company, but I don't like the idea of people leaving the ABC without at least having the chance to train first.
I could see having two gyms going at once, split the 'train with a pro' groups evenly across the two, and have some kind of sign up system to split people between the two. It would be tough to coordinate and for the people that like to say hello to lots of people it would hurt that experience, but it would allow us to still work out at Metro Fitness without running into any kind of safety hazards.
If the idea of splitting it doesn't work, I'm not a big fan of limiting the number of FORVM members who could attend, I would rather go to another facility entirely.
