Last day of the cycle - my back was fatigued from the rack pulls so I cut the squats short. Wanted to pound my bench and hit a new PR.
Squats (high bar)
90 * 8 three sets - things felt tight
135 * 3 two sets
180 * 3
225 * 3
242 * 3
265 * 3 three sets. Called it there. Bring on the deload!
Bench
90 for 5 two sets
135 * 3 two sets
180 * 1
200 * 1
225 * 1
242 * 1
270 * 1 (122.5k PR for a paused bench)
275 * miss - stalled at the usual sticking point
Add slingshot
290 / 310 / 320 / 330 (PR - 150k slingshot bench!)
And tricep work to finish.
TO sum up this 5 week.....
Squat - 7.5k PR (162.5k)
Front squat - 5k PR (115k)
Bench - 2.5k PR (122.5k)
Slingshot bench - 10k PR!! 150k!! (although this probably due to me having the balls ot go for it!
Rack pull - 30k PR from previous. Don't think I've ever shifted 200k from that rack height.....that would be about 6 months ago but hey....progress is just awesome.
Having said that.....my back felt fatigued today! Maybe after pulling heavy, I'll not squat on the bench day....or do a token lift up to a reasonable double and call it? A bit of cardio tomorrow, a week of deloading (probably involving timed singles or some such and plenty of bodybuilding/strongman larking around!) and then we'll go again!!!
