First off warm ups are very vital and i can say Brandon Lilly explain it well and have a pretty good vidoe clip speaking on it. If you get time to, look it up.
Failure on DLs... hmmm, I dont like that word to be honest. I am very stricted on form so i guess i can say i dont get to the point of failure cus form would be compromised. Just to give you an idea, i never Max or get close to my max in training. Form is everything!
if you are asking who do i think is the strongest lbs for lbs in the game, then i would say me to be honest! Don't get me wrong i do believe that there is always someone out there stronger. That's what keeps me goin.
Now, if you are talkn about the straight up topic lb for lb, then i would say this.
Some people like to not credit the lighter guys when it come to weights for some reason. They say things like we have a shorter distance to travel and have better leverage etc but that sounds like an excuses to me. I can easily say if i was taller i would be able to dunk a basketball but i'm not tall but guess what i'm 5'4 and can dunk. To me no one likes excuses. If you want it get it.
yes!

YEAH BUDDY! I really dig the confidence and it doesn't come off as cocky.

Richard, you've been an inspiration to me as a lifter, especially on the deadlift, since I witnessed your show at the 2012 Cage. But my question is about your back squat. Some people I've talked to didn't even know that you weren't a DL specialist or that your other lift numbers were about on par with your deadlift, and I'm happy to correct them on that!
I watched your recent squat video on FB and, based on the form of some other lifters I've seen, it seems you utilize a slightly wider than shoulder width stance, high bar, and a LOT of back bend: your chest almost seems to be touching your knees at the bottom. Is this to leverage your strengths as a deadlifter, keeping your ass back to get more ham/glute involvement and doing more of a good morning motion to use your back?
I've been struggling with my form a bit, partially due to some lingering knee pain, partially due to some repeated low back injuries. However, when my back is right (and it's pretty close at this point), I'm fine with some forward knee travel (as long as I keep them pushed out) and/or some back bend in my squat, however most of the coaching I've received has taught me vertical shins and chest up...the other problem being I have long femurs, a short torso, and tight hams and hip flexors to boot...very difficult for me to manage all of those things simultaneously, even with no weight on the bar.
I know it's hard for you to coach my form without seeing me in person or a video, but I'm just curious as thoughts on the issues above. I'm thinking about rotating sumo deads, high bar back squats (to parallel), and front squats (to the ground), in order of weight low to high, to kind of hit everything at all angles while increasing strength and mobility.
75% Awesome, 75% More Awesome (I don't understand math)

Good advise, I am going to start looking into my own training plan on this.
btw: NOTHING but respect for you buddy!

Thanks and im glad that i can inspire people. This training session and form is actually a lil off due to my deadlift workout two days before. My back was shot and tighten up with my first warm up with 135lbs. My back is struggling to maintain the weight. With that being said this is a narrow stance for me but no matter what i try to keep the bar over the peak of my foot to keep leverage. I never rely on my back strenght as far as movement in my squat or Dead, just the ablity to maintian weight. Imma say this and a lot of people dont kno or realize this but a straight back on squat are incorrect! The spire first off is naturally curved, now if you look into the background and the beginning training of a young gymnist, youll find that the first thing they teach for core and balance is what is call a hollowhold. The straight alinement of the body for balance and core strenght which is not utilized to the fullest in this sport. If you have been following me with the few articles that i have done, you would notice i speak of core strength more than anything cus without that, there is no form. When you get a chance look up the hollowhold. I was fortunate to have met a good friend now, Adam Vazquez, who travels all over the world performing at the top level for dual balancing acts for Major Circus Shows. I always done this but when he started to instuct me on handstands he got into talking about the Hollowhold and it all started to make sense. This wasnt a direct answer to your question but it should be very helpful to you.
Would love to see a vid of you explaining and breaking down your conventional and sumo DL technique, step by step. there are often little tips we can learn from guys like you, that one can't find in a textbook.

Hey Rbowman91 sent me vide of your form so i can evaluate your body structure. sorry im jus now getting to you
ive hit PR's in the weight room on back to back weeks now. while my shit isn't the most impressive is very encouraging for me, I still have forever to go but the success I have been having lately, despite the injuries I have been accruing, I attribute much to the help Richard has given me. I have been grinding away with a few things since the summer and am now reaping the benefits. I will not divulge the tips he has given me. I feel like he may have bigger plans for them. thank u bro.
