I’m sure someone somewhere has made a rack or bench from something even more sketchy. Like, schedule 80 PVC. lol. I’m interested in this half rack you’re talking about. I have roughly 65” of headspace (also thanks to my basement floor and the house being built in the late 1800’s) to fit a rack.

I lost out on a rack, barbell and 600lbs of plates 2 years ago because I couldn’t convince my wife of the worth, or persuade her to let me take over half of our garage... (Dude wanted $300!)

      Reflections

In this sport we often say the iron never lies. 200 pounds is 200 pounds and you can lift it or not. The other tool that never seems to lie is the mirror. You look in a mirror and it shows you everything, every muscle or lack of, every bit of fat, how dry or ripped you are, every blemish and imperfection too. But you need to take a closer look at that guy or gal in the mirror. That’s your competition. That’s the enemy. That person in the mirror is the one who tells you to take a day off. That person is the one who tells you it’s OK to eat that cookie or donut. Yes, family and friends will encourage you to stray from training and diet, but it’s you who gives them the power to do so. Be honest with yourself when you look into that mirror. Look past that reflection and be honest with yourself. You are your own worst enemy.

$300? That's a purchase that I would have made without asking.
