Danke dir.

Roman, i had a lot of free time this past weekend and watched a bunch of your videos and read a ton of pages from your 2014 amateur olympia prep. i love learning about all the different methods different people use. I noticed in your workout at musclebeach a while back, you mentioned you trained back in the am and chest in the pm. also, in the Animal videos "double impact" you trained legs in the am and shoulders/triceps in the pm. slightly different than your amateur olympia prep split. do you go by feel or change your am/pm sessions often?
im experimenting with my own am/pm split right now, thats why i ask. i enjoy lifting as often as possible and want to put in the work to grow as fast as possible (plus lots of food of course)
Roman, Hope you are well. This is Dylan, we trained together at the National ABC 2 years ago after the Arnold Classic here in the US.
I had a question about intra/post workout nutrition. I am currently cutting and was wondering if I should drink a shake with protein and carbs immediately after working out, or just a shake with protein and then solid food carbs later with my post workout meal. Or what about drinking carbs/protein during training while cutting? I am Just trying to maintain muscle mass as much as possible.

I don´t go by instinct. I simply change my routine every so often in order to avoid boredom.
As soon as I feel like "man... I´ve been doing this forever..." I change something.

I neither drink a shake during nor after. I eat 1 hour before I train and about 30 minutes after, once I arrive at home. Solid food is what´s going to get you hard and shredded.
Immediately post training I throw in 3-5 packs of NITRO.
You´re not going to lose muscle by accident. It´s really damn hard to push yourelf to the point where your body is forced to convert protein from skeletal muscle into fuel. People way overstress this. Trust me.

I think people are just scared to train hard!

I am responsible for what I have and will become, I am accountable for what I will or will not accomplish. I believe in myself, I bow to no man and my only critic of any consequence has walked every mile of this journey in my size thirteens. " - G. Diesel
Scared as well. Rex, I've had people tell me they don't train the Powerlifts due to possible injury. Example: a friend told me the other day he doesn't perform the Barbell Bench Press because he's been informed that the chances of ripping a pec muscle is too likely.
I kid you not.
*Plus, many folks can't take the DOMS that we all live with everyday. They don't like feeling tight or achy either.

Thank you Roman, I'm not afraid to train hard, just don't want to lose any hard earned muscle!
I have been following your prep as well, Good luck in Tampa!

If you ask me, excuses like the one your buddy has given you are just that. Excuses why they can´t do something because they´re too lazy to perform these exhausting exercises. They hurt (during and after) and they take everything out of you if done properly. So people are looking for any rationalization why they can´t do them...

The soreness is like a reward - the peace of mind knowing i went hard is well worth the soreness!
As for injuries - warm up properly and be smart. sometimes its unavoidable, but most of the time i get injured i didn't properly warm-up and realized it later on when its too late

This is truth beyond truth...I don't even know how many guys I know who will start lifting and give it up after a couple weeks because they can't stand being sore or stiff later.
But...the choice is often sore muscles or no muscles. I prefer the former.
And to Rex...i saw your rear double bicep pic on IG yesterday...looking good! I won't say good luck to you in Tampa, because luck doesn't win shit...but hoping your hard work pays off for you.

Thank you, man. I appreciate your support. I´m giving it my all. Every day.
