at 175 I can see how you had a hard time. pretty awesome that you attacked it anyway. that stone was almost double body weight!!! crazy, ambitious and cool. I love it.
Thanks man. Easily this was the heaviest show I've done. I had a blast!

Finally got back to it after the two week lay off. Being that I didn’t know that much before and that I missed two weeks or so of classes I expected to be rusty and things to not go well. It was just the opposite, best class yet.
I’m curious, how do you warm up for a strong man comp? Never been to one. At a PL meet there’s racks set up in a warm up area, but how about SM?
At most shows the warm ups are fairly limited. You have access to the implements before the next event starts. Basically as soon as I’m finished with event one and recovered from it I start warming up for event two with the implements. It doesn’t always work out. Sometimes you only get one or two warm ups. It also depends on what the event is. I mean there really isn’t a way to warm up for a car deadlift or stones. I usually have a band thrown in my bag to help get the blood flowing if needed. Of course my last show was pretty small and we were given plenty of time to warm up. Generally though warm ups are limited.

It felt like a few things started clicking. Great night! This will be a long journey but I’m seeing progress.

This was my first time going to the afternoon class. Normally I’m working during the day class but I had to go into work two hours early so I took an earlier lunch to go train. I enjoyed the day class. I felt much fresher than at six in the evening. It also seemed to energize the remainder of my work day. Class was great, got to roll with a guy who outweighs me by about 80lbs. That was a trip.

I had kind of a long shitty week in the real world, it felt great to roll last night. I got a few submissions and got tapped out myself. Nothing like it to take out some frustrations and get some perspective. Great night.

Both classes went very well. I was fresher at the noon class and a little tired at the evening class but still a great day. Two and a half hours of bjj is a lot for me so I feel accomplished just attending both classes. Rolling went well, conditioning is improving along with everything else.
I know I haven't flat benched in awhile but I was really expecting more than one with three wheels. Apparently you have to bench consistently or it goes down. Time to start benching consistently. I will probably be benching in our local powerlifting meet in December.
