Decided I need a place to track my journey and what better place than Animal. I spent 4 years in the Marines and when I got out I went into strongman for 4 years and competed as a lightweight. From there I tried my hand at bodybuilding, but I always had a love for lifting heavy weights and I hate cardio, I did to much of that in Recon. Just started my journey into powerlifting last year where I totaled 1580lbs at 242lbs. Just moved out to California to train with Dan Green at his gym in Mountain View, in 3 months I've learned a ton of great info and will only continue to grow. My last meet was on March 29th and I totaled 1664lbs at 220lbs weight class with just sleeves. I'm in my off season now really trying to improve my flexibility, core strength, and quad size through a ton of squats. I'm doing a meet on June 8th more for practice and I'm shooting for another on August 2nd at Boss Barbell Club.
My training looks like this:
Sun: Bench Press
Mon: Deadlift Accessory
Tues: High Bar Squats and Back
Weds: Upper Body Accessory
Thurs: Front Squat and CG BP
Fri: Deadlift and High Bar Squats
Sat: Off
I follow a block periodization protocol and I do all my own nutrition.
