Gatorade Powder, 2 scoops BCAA Stack, 1 Scoop Storm, 2 scoops Tropical Punch Iso Whey Protein is what I use intra workout. Tastes amazing and intraworkout supplementation WORKS. Ever since I started doing this, my recovery has been significantly better (while coupled with proper post workout nutrition)
I've done a couple of the below as far as intra workout supplementation, with all of these mixed with at least 32oz of water:
- 4 scoops Torrent
- 2 scoops A7, Gatorade Powder, Creatine
- 1 scoop Vanilla Whey, 1 bottle Orange Gatorade (the old college throwback)
- 2 scoops A7 (Current drink)
- Intra-Aid (may it rest in peace)
By far my current one is the best in terms of digestibility and non-bloating feeling.
I'm with you bro. I've been having an intraworkout beverage consistently for a long time now--some with everything but the kitchen sink, some very basic. And the most effective and best digesting I have had thus far are BCAAs in water or Gatorade.
I know there's a thread(s) like this on the UniversalUSA forum but I was interested in what the folks on AnimalPak use intra-workout if any thing.
So, 1) what do you use intra-workout?
And 2) how do you feel it's benefited your workout, recovery, personal goals?
1) No drinks except water. I might throw in 2 packs of NITRO half way through if I am having a really tough session.
2) I tried doing intras but my stomach canīt handle it. Therefore my workouts would suffer.
I eat 1h before training and take 4 packs of NITRO post. 30min later I eat again...
I trained quads in the morning and then hamstrings/calves in the afternoon....I don't if it's a coincidence or not, but I had one of the best quads workouts I've had in a year...never felt bloated or discomfort with the Torrent. Intensity stayed high throughout the workout as well
I will probably continue to use the rest of my Torrent for intra solely on leg days...with that being said, after i tun out of this tub, I will stick with just foods, no shakes...and just aminos post workout, water intra
You'd rather miss a training session than a meal. Shit, diet is that important to a bodybuilder. It's an area that doesn't allow for any bad days or mistakes. You ready to make the sacrifice? - AnimalPak.com

Yeah, I don't like a lot in my stomach while training either. I basically sip a little bit of my intra-workout mix of Atomic 7 + Carb Max while training and finished the rest post.
With it being humid as balls here in Chicago, I've been sweating profusely while training, so in the interest of not dying these past months, my intra-workout has been:
2 Tbsp gatorade powder
A few good cranks of Himalayan pink salt
That goes in my regular water bottle, and I sip it throughout training while taking big pulls from my gallon jug of water.
I'll probably be grabbing some kind of BCAA product the next time I order supps, but so far this combo has been working pretty damn well.

This has me thinking a bit, which is usually a dangerous thing. ;)
Right now, I do supplement intraworkout with a carb powder, two scoops of a BCAA powder (not A7 but will be if I get another powder) and some glutamine for good measure. I'll carry a couple of extra energy gels for good measure however those are mostly for when I go out on my 8-mile run.
I have a workout day that can get particularly intense because I'll add into it a timed HIIT training that runs for about 25 minutes. I'm torched by the end of it, and that's not the last thing I do for that day. Having the intraworkout gives me the fuel I need to get through that and still have more for the rest of my workout.
I guess the question for me to think about is why I would want to sip on a BCAA intra-workout if I can take the Nitro pre-workout and know that not only am I going to have the BCAAs in place to aid in my recovery but also know that what I'm taking is considerably more potent than a powder. If I'm sipping on a beverage 15 minutes before I start that workout, I don't know if the BCAAs in the drink are going to be much help if at all in such a short time frame.
That and I read a lot of people here that swear by the Nitro.
On those nights, I would anticipate taking the Nitro before and after the workout. I'd still have my drink but I'd only add the carbs to it.

I've still been using my last couple of servings of Torrent intra during back and leg days, still no bloating or issues but I perform better. With just plain old water. I usually drink anywhere from 3/4 - 1 whole gallon of water intra, seriously

Intra Workout i sip on 3 scoops of torrent and a scoop of rag exl or shock therapy. I dont like slamming a shake before I workout so I will sip on it for most of the workout with gatorade and some bcaas.

I'm pretty curious about this- what's the reasoning for salt intra? I know that I usually keep my sodium pretty high but had a lot of curiosity as to this...
Also, i see a lot of people saying that they're running shock or Rage INTRA as opposed to PRE... any reasoning for that?
