      Nighttime Protocols

I've always been a big believer in using supplements in certain "windows" of the day, in order to ensure maximum efficacy.

I know that is probably known as anecdotal "broscience" in many circles nowadays, but it is what I have done for quite some time and I've noticed many more advanced than me follow a similar program. Largely because it just seemed to make logical sense.

If you've known me long enough, friends who lived with me in college will tell you about me making a shake to share with them (even if they didn't lift) and taking my vitamins before bed. That always seemed like a great opportunity to grow and recover, right before slumber. Since I don't get as much sleep as I used to back then, it has become even more important now.

Here's what I'm taking currently before bed...

Casein Pro (mixed w/ unsweetened almond milk)
      Animal PM
      1g Vitamin C
      2000 iu Vitamin D3

      So, what are you on?

      Peace, G

I used to take 250mg of Vitamin C everyday but I just get caught up with too many packs of pills lately so I forgot about it. Maybe I will get back on it soon.

I'm currently taking these before bed:
      1-2 scoops Real Gains
      Animal Flex
      Animal PM on the weekend.

Nice. I take my Flex every AM, but I could see taking it at night.

Real Gains before bed is the serious mass-gaining protocol. Been there done that.

      Why PM only on weekends?

I have 8am class from Monday-Saturday and my schedule is really weird and I don't really want to oversleep. This is how my "morning" routine looks like
      3am: Pump+Nitro -> then gym
      5am: first meal with Pak+Omega
      7am: start biking to campus.

I'm taking 18 units this semester so I only have around 4-5 hours of sleep and I don't want to miss the gym session because of oversleeping from Animal PM.
So yea, I only get full sleeps on the weekend and I want to take advantage of it by speeding my recovery with Animal PM, I hit legs hard on Friday as well, and it hurts like a bitch even 2 days after so PM really helps me out on that part of recovery.

3am is no joke my man. Much respect to you for doing what it takes to get shit done.

Your strategy makes perfect sense considering your schedule.

      I like your style, NG.

Usually about 90 mins before my shake and supps, I make a NutriBullet drink that consists of the following...

      Kale
      Spinach
      Green Apple
      Banana
      Lemon

Started this when my girl was pregnant with my daughter and we've done it at least 5 nights a week ever since. Awesome, easy way to get in those critical nutrients.

I get home from the gym pretty late.

      So generally train 9-1030.

      11pm - 7oz beef / 2 cups white rice.
      12pm - 25g whey / 1/2 cup oats / whole milk / PB.
      1215 - Sleep Aide

Always a struggle to get to bed at a normal time.

      Looks good bro.

And I hear that, I often tell myself I'm going to get to bed early and it always ends up being after midnight. Gets you burned out after a while, the late nights and early AMs, where it takes a grenade to get you out of bed in the morning. But fuck it, you've gotta believe it is all worth it big picture.

      Third Shifter's stack

I work rotating 12 hour third shifts 7pm-7am with an 8 hour shift every other week, so Wed-Sat morning one week and Tues-Sat morning the next week. That means it sucks trying to get to sleep when I get home and I only get to sleep until 2pm so I have an hour to train until my son and the kids I train in our garage gym get home. I lift M, W, F, Sat and do cardio on Tues, Thurs and Sun. If I have adults train in the morning when I get home, I don't hit the bed until 9am.

"Night time" routine when I'm working is currently
      5g Fiber Chews
30 minutes later Animal PM (I take this every night)
8 oz Juiced Aminos (Saturday, Sunday and Monday nights I go to sleep at night like most people. So I take the Juiced Aminos on Sunday & Tuesday in the morning instead of Shock Therapy right before AM cardio)

After seeing G's stack, I'm going to try Animal PM and Animal Flex together. So the new "night time" stack will be:
      5g Fiber Chews
      30 minutes later Animal PM
      Animal Flex
      8 oz Juiced Aminos

      Currently doing this before bed...

      1 serving GH Stack
      2000iu Vitamin D3
      3g Fish Oil
      1g Vitamin C
      3g HMB

Loving the GH Stack--incredibly effective. I literally tell everyone to take it.

Typical vitamins and EFAs. Also got some bulk HMB cheap, so I'm trying that as I've had good results with it in the past.

It varies sometimes, but I'm faithful to my ZMA before bed. Amazing stuff!
