You're stronger than me so maybe you could handle a 60 but I got one and I found it way too uncomfortable in term of the pressure it applies to the spine and shoulders. I found the 40 lber to be fantastic and you can always increase the load/volume by finding a steeper or longer hill.
Thanks for the input. I think I’ll go with the 40. I can always buy a 60 later if needed.

Notes:
Shoulder did not like the 205 bench so I racked it after the first rep and then dropped down a few sets to get some controlled reps. I was a little tentative after that to tell the truth, but it was still good overall. The calve raise machine is a much harder machine than the Leg press but it is not pleasant. I'll have to get used to it. 4 solid reps with the stack on the Hammer abd crunch. This week is going to be tight but after that I've got a solid 7 weeks to the end of October after which I'll take a 3 week deload to Thanksgiving. Will probably lighten up the weights here and try to get really fit going into the Winter. Maybe get the rest of the weight off.

Notes:
Woke up and while having coffee I developed an odd pec-ab cramp which triggered a mild migraine so decided to go shoot archery in the afternoon instead of lifting weights. I'll start the weights back up on Wed. Want to get a good 7-8 week push before heading into the Winter. Not sure where my weight is at but I want to do a push on that too.

First day back on the weights I think it's 2 weeks. I tried the Dips with BW +40lbs and my right shoulder started screaming so I immediately decided that the rest of the workout was high reps. I think I'll just build back up, I did hurt the shoulder on the bench the last day before the break so I want to take it easy on it. It was just good to get back on it. Hoping by Sunday to be into it with the right weight for the high reps.

Archery.
Notes:
I'm going to alternate Archery and weights so that I hit the weights every 4-5 days. I'm going to try and tighten the meal plan also, but my enthusiasm has been falling off for cutting here with the Summer gone. Been thinking to try and keep it under 180 over the winter, that would be something good. Shoulder still hurts but not so bad, staying on the mobility work!!!
Yeah I'll stay on the hill three times a week with the weighted vest and I'll keep up with the walks, but I went and shot the bow last week and worked on mobility work and my spine shoulder apparatus seemed to like the break so I may just take a longer deconditioning period to allow for more thorough healing and then come back to it with a fury.

First off the time posted on the 15th for the sledding hill is wrong I had stopped the watch rather than mark the 20th flight and then decided to go one more and restarted the watch so there was a time lapse there that was not recorded. I realized that today. Still today I got there late and with the heat I was a minute slower for sure. Going to start monitoring the weight again to try and keep it below 180. I was really light after the hill today but that was water weight. I actually considered lifting today but the right shoulder was sore after the archery. Did lots of mobility work today, there's just this one spot on the right side of the spine in the thoracic region that's locked up and when that tightens I get the impingement, I just have to stick with the mobility work till I work that out.
Have you tried rolling on a softball or baseball? Put it between you and a wall and you can work that spot out. Also try stretching your lats and chest if you haven’t already.

We got pounded with rain but we did get the hill in and had to shorten the walk. This past Friday I was in the field with a heavy pack and the work we did payed off. It's funny how when you take it to the field it's brutally hard, but it's the preparation that makes it possible at all.

The conditions for the hill were ideal on the 4th with a tailwind on the uphill and cool temp. Big PR very happy with that. We'll try to keep it going through October weather permitting.

I guess it wasn't a fluke the other day. All these months of getting on that hill often 3 times per week have gotten me to another level. All I'm doing for upper body right now is archery 2-3 times per week and the mobility work.

Notes:
I took off this past Wed on the hill otherwise I've been at it 3 times per week. Last week I weighed in at 177. Which was a recent low point, just looking to keep it under 180 until we get back to it after Thanksgiving. So far so good.
