Notes:
With my outdoor forrays concluded, back to the gym we go. Started out with a pressing day as I have to say I'm pretty banged up. Not sure what it's going to look like but a couple things for sure, I want to lean up quite a bit more and I want to pack on some size. So volume for sure but how we get there isn't clear and given how it went today it's going to take some work. Weight has been hovering around 184 so that's been stable.
Notes:
Baby steps. One thing for sure I do want to change the programming so the pressing day falls before the Squat day as curls impact the grip the next day. Doesn't matter now but it will later.
Notes:
Tried to bench earlier in the week and after the 4th set I developed such a bad migraine I've been afraid to work out since. Deadlifts went fine.
Notes:
Would like more movements but last time I couldn't fully extend my arms for a few because of the soreness, so being careful on ramping up the volume.
The bench press migraine trigger best that I can figure is because at this gym the overhead lights are florescent and do not have diffusers. Not sure how I'm going to address it, happens with greater frequency when I first start back up, thinking to maybe do something else in the beginning, we'll see.
Notes:
Wore sunglasses, really concerned about another migraine. After getting 4 sets of 10 on the bench I decided to switch to the pulldowns to at least get chest and back rolling. After getting the light volume on the pulldowns went back to the bench light to get some more volume. I was just happy to get something in. I got to pick up some sports sunglasses, can't hurt.
Notes:
Did my normal pressing day and then added some more very light volume. Strength is coming up. I like the upright rows but not a movement I want to go heavy on, but did a GVT with a one minute rest. I like the machine preacher curl movement and the Machine tricep press is like a seated dip I think it fits good on the pressing day.
Notes:
I think I'll do the Pulldowns before the Bench to warm up see if that helps avoid the migraines. Wore the sunglasses for the bench just to play it safe. Pulldowns after the morning deadlift was interesting. I don't think I realized how it really uses a lot of the same muscles.
Glad you got to bench. Everyone has always said here that if you want a big back, pull some deads. I never really got that until the last couple years. Maybe I wasn't doing them right, but by holding your shoulders back and down your lats are in play quiet a bit.

I think the pressing is coming along fine. One thing I noticed coming back to it is whether there was soreness in the targeted muscles. While I love curls and there was soreness for sure in the forearms I found the biceps to be hardly impacted. So I substituted the rope cable curls and we'll see how that goes, had a nice pump for sure. Goals aren't etched in stone BUT leaning up seems to be taking over for some reason.
