60 minutes on the Elliptical with the 40lb vest and 10lb ankle weights, highest incline, hardest resistance, calories: 724.
Notes:
The reported calories I just use as a reference for the relative effort that I am making, not as an accurate measure of the calories burned. I find this training to be kind of brutal, but somehow as I go along on it I get into a rhythm and am able to grind it out. That and the idea that I am only doing this til April 1st when I can take things outside and change them up and probably add some high volume deadlifts to the mix.
Felt like my weight bumped up a little when I eliminated the desert at the end of the day as I found myself craving it and overeating a bit. So it was definitely a compulsion, I put a lid on it though and this morning felt like things tightened back up. I'm not doing anything resembling a cut I just don't want things to get away from me here while I'm building.
I have been feeling much more solid lately, thicker, it feels good!
The one thorn in my side is that since the accident I have not been able to bring up my flat bench. I'm older and don't expect to get back to where I was but it's definitely been lagging the rest. I get it up to a point and then I seem to re-injure the damaged area.
I'm probably need to accept it, but it's not easy for me to do. I can do pretty well with the DB bench but it's the flat bench which is that one standard of measure which is hard to give up.
