Happened to find this thread. Some thoughts. If the iron bug bites in your teens, 20's; whenever, nothing's saying it should go away when 'old' hit's; no more than golf, fishing, hunting etc. Adjustments get made, but you show up to stare down the iron because it's what you've always looked forward to. Numbers may go up or down, but fighting and sweating and conquering a last rep of a set has the same name; whether noob, a pro, or 'old' - "f'king HEAVY". Old proves the young; the iron game is not a race; it's a journey; full of cussing and celebrating; just keep pulling and pressing. Good form and perseverance will make 'old' less noticeable. Mid '60s here, plenty of iron start/stops, but now, just a short list of lifts/goals I want to concentrate on for me alone eg. current rack dead, 1 pin from the floor-4 x 275. Eyeing a repeat of 365 from a few years ago. Takes time, I'll make the time.

Show me your numbers boys! I'm talking about the non competitive natural guys who are keeping it real. Hitting the gym day in and day out we got to motivate each other. Let this be a place until animal realizes we are many! If you're shooting for a 200 bench or a 400 bench I want to hear about it! Let's do this fucking thing!
A big shout out to the MAN upstairs for granting me another one! Looking to make some serious changes in my dieting strategy. Hoping to get 4-5 days a week in on a regular basis I was doing 3 sometimes 4. Worried about limited recovery time. I'm going to cycle my heavy days. It s pretty inconvenient that I can't just pick up my animal protein at a GNC or a vitamin shoppe. Here's my big six that I use as my heavy compounds inclines, DB rows, military, squat,bb curls, seated TRICEP ext. I know I know there not the big "3" but this is the hand I was dealt.
