So...I had a contest journey log going on for a meet I was prepping for on 9/17, but due to various nagging injuries I had to stop training for a couple weeks and had to drop that one
But, since the goal I set for myself as soon as I decided to focus on powerlifting is to hit an elite total in one weight class or another, I figured I'd start a general training log. I still have a few hundred pounds to go to clear that hurdle, so it's gonna take a while, but I'm down for the grind. Right now I'm doing layne nortons ph3 trainer from bb.com - I'm not typically a fan of blindly following someone else's shit, but the guy knows what he's talking about, and I'm sort of in the mindset right now where just showing up and doing what's prescribed and leaving sounds awesome. Deadlift 405x9x2
Day 2
Incline bench, 80x8x3 superset with Lat pulls, 200x8x3
Smith machine military press, 155x10x2, superset with cs rows, 90x10x2
Seated Dumbbell curls superset with dumbbell skullcrushers, 5 sets each of 6-8 reps with 35s
Then tossed in 3 sets of cable preacher curls and tri extensions
Day 3
Bench, 250x7x3
Squat, 295x7x3...used ss bar here
Leg extensions/curls/calves in a circuit
Day 4 rest
Day 5 - today
Deadlift, 445x4x2
Bench, 275x3x2, x6
Wide lat pulls, 180x12x2 superset with cable fly, 60x12x2
Seated lateral raise, 20x15x2 superset with db row, 85x8, 75x10
Then a bunch of curls and tri pushdowns
