So...I've mentioned this on here before, but there's a couple older guys I started training with a while back who have been in the pl'ing game for decades. When I first started training with them, my deadlifts took off after being stuck around 405 or so forever. Then I started lifting with them, but doing my own shit in our workouts, and stalled out for a bit. Now I've been following their general routine again, and am making gains on my deadlift faster than ever
Set and rep schemes vary depending on whether prepping for a meet and how far out, but the basic template is: week 1, deficits from about 3". Week 2: reverse bands, with bands taking off 200 lbs at bottom. Week 3: straight weight from the floor.
Accessory lifts and all that switch up as well depending on the individual, but the basic premise is to train for strength at the bottom, train lockout and grip, then just smash pr's the 3rd week.
