Yoga is a lifestyle all of it's own. Back in my kick boxing days did a lot of lower body stretches daily along with a style of Baduanjin qigong for my upper body. I cannot stress enough how important it is to stretch if you pump iron. The weightpile was my thing during the day, and the kick bags/ring at night for years. Reluctantly I say that I gave up the martial arts somewhere nearing my 40's. In my 60's today and I still hit the weights, work the bag, although I do not stretch as much as I should. Figure I throw my input in for into the mixed martial arts thing.
Rinn Dinn Brewery in my town offers a $10 yoga class once a month and it includes on complementary beer afterward. I'm sold.
Maybe if I had the brewski first, nah maybe a shot of wild turkey and the brewski but then I wouldn't need the class I'd already be all loosey goosey nice concept though!
Out of curiosity, has anyone hear done, or know anyone who's done, JujiMufu's stretching protocols?
I know he has certain rules he follows between his resistance training and stretching. Curious to hear about it.
How do you expect to run with the wolves at night if you spend all day stuntin with the puppies?
All seriousness, it feels sacrilegious asking this in the Animal forum.
--Does anyone use yoga for mobility and recovery on off days?
--Any suggestions in favor of or against it?
