Jersey Animals
"In the end, we're all just chalk lines on the concrete, drawn, only to be washed away. For the time that I've been given, I am what I am."
.......But practically speaking, would there be enough interest here? We take a thread like this to BB.com and the thread would explode.
IMO yes, as I've always been of the opinion that we, the Forvm, AP & UN faithful, should have some sort of "perk", beit Forvm only exclusive items, pre releases, whatever.
And would venture to say that alot of AP Brothers do not even venture over to BB.c
To make PROGRESS, you have to learn to be COMFORTABLE with being UNCOMFORTABLE.
Those who worry the most about overtraining are the ones that don't train HARD enough and aren't STRONG enough to need to worry about it.

True, true. Can't dispute that at all. The folks here are obviously the most committed and the most loyal Animal users and fans in the world. No doubt about it. But of course, there are limitations. But I hear you loud and clear.

not about whining- but a previous comment is totally correct. Over the years, I hardly ever go back to BB.com- instead I go to places where I know I'll get real valuable information- such as here. Forvm exclusives are a really interesting idea....
I mean- I'm gonna get some FURY release day no matter what i gotta do lol
I'm just trying to think of how this would logistically be pulled off...
•Only make it available in The Shop for a period of time before sending to retailers? Considering those links are public, anyone can sign up for an account and then have access. Would people also be willing to pay the steeper price to get it directly as opposed to waiting for it to hit the major retailers when they can get it for much cheaper.
•Send a magic PM to someone here, and then get provided a statement or whatever to then pay and have it shipped? Highly unlikely.
•I drive to New Jersey and raid the warehouses?
For me, just having a date set when we know that it will be available on BB.com or wherever else is more than plenty.
Clearly this is the best & only option. Wanna car pool?

True. And I give all credit where credit is due. Just can't get into their forum. Feels more like reddit than a place to talk training.
Reddit. Never heard of it. But if you know where to look, and if you are diligent, you can find a lot of great things going on over at BB.com. Just need time and patience. It's there.

True and I can't argue with you on that. More steak here, and less sizzle. But if I tried to think about this in a logical way (which is very difficult for me), I might say this – that here, you have true brand loyalists. What you do here is about "preaching to the choir." What you do at BB.com, on the hand, might be about connecting with new customers and possible future brand loyalists. So both are important, but for different reasons. One to reward loyalty and the other to spread the word.
I don't know if anyone remembers this, but way back when, there was a section that was "invisible" to visitors. Only logged in, registered members could see that section. In that section, the reps ran exclusive promos. Maybe it's that for a return?

I'd say thats fairly logical. Here, we have the one's who already know, and are loyal to the cause/brand. There, it's a massive opportunity to spread the word. Not everyone can remember back to the original Journey days that originally hooked me, and you gotta market to keep the following strong. Hell if i knew that 14 year old me was hanging out in bodybuilding.com- I'd want to make sure that I figured out a way to get me over here for the "steak" as well.
I DO remember the invisible section- in fact, I remember that as part of the reason I finally joined instead of just lurking...

Discount code that is available only to registered Forvm members in conjunction with option one above is my solution.

Even if it was announced here in the Packs section, FORVM members would be the only ones to know it's in the shop. Unless someone ran over to BB.com and squealed. I have no idea if doing this would breach any kind of agreement Animal has with BB.com or anyone named Get-Thin (Really?!).

I definitely remember it because I still visit it hoping against hope. I will say that as long as we're updating things and bringing them back, it would be cool to update the product info threads. Regardless, I think that there needs to be some sort of perk for loyalty. Somebody like Deanna7272, tark or knotahumanbeing should have more "privileges" for lack of a better word than some dude who only participates on Instagram.
I think that the exclusive promos thread would be a great place to put the discount code for Forvm members only that I mentioned in my previous post.

Now that is an important point worth noting. Let me ask though, is the forum as vibrant and as active as it was in the past in your opinion?

The old Animalpak.com couldn't really implement promo codes or coupons. The new site definitely can. How would you attach a forum member to an account on the main site? Not a tech or web guy, how would that work?

I guess we could run a test and see if many members here would really be interested in this.

Besides promo codes in invisible forum sections, what are some other loyalty perks that members here would value?

I don't think so. I realize that Animal needs to pay bills so you always want to expand your customer base. But whenever I try to encourage someone to join this Forum at one of my ABCs they want to know what the benefit is to them. And I say that the fact that there aren't as many tangible benefits is an obstacle to attracting people who would otherwise be active, contributors. For example, what attracted me to Animal was not being able to get inside The Cage when I first discovered Animal at the Arnold Classic a few years ago. I asked somebody how you got to go inside and they told me about The Forum.

I meant something like "use code OGRAGE at checkout for 15% off" but you only post the code in the exclusive promos section so only we know it.

I can tell you flat out that if you figured out a way to make OG Rage available to Forvm members you'd make at least one thread very happy lol.
Seriously, Forum Animal of the month was a cool idea. I think the reward for that should be a Big Pak Can or an Animal Gym bag stuff with products. Or randomly pick out someone from the daily PR thread and send them a Never Back Down poster and/or small Animal banner.
I really wish I'd joined before you all discontinued the old Forum t shirt where you wrote your own name in and I think that's a cool idea as well.
It'll be pretty hard to have special promos just for Forvm members, imo. I understand the idea behind it and how it could work, but what's stopping anyone from just signing up to get it? I mean, the best part to me about the Forvm is the brotherhood and tightness of the smaller group. And then you get into things like some guys have 50posts, others have thousands of posts. Some guys have been here 2 months, some have been here 10 years. You couldn't say "Well, you must be THIS active in the Forvm" or whatever, because that would back fire big time for newer members and isn't fair. But then you run into like I stated above that anyone could just sign up and get cheaper supps and bring some of the mentality from other not-so-favored forums here.
I feel Universal/Animal does SO much already, that they don't necessarily have to give out special promos or prices exclusive to forum members. Anytime a sale is about to happen, a thread is put in here so we all know. You guys do so much in the community and for the military year round. The customer service I've received from this company is unmatched anywhere. Plus when there's left over special gear from the Cage and the O, it's re-released in here. Not to mention I've met people like Josh, Jimmy, Larry, etc in real life from ABCs and at the Arnold and etc that I never would've known before. You've got people like Deanna who is friends with EVERYONE and texts me when she's in NC. It just seems to me there's already plenty of perks for being here in the Forvm.

This is a great post.
I want to point out that people come here and sign up just so they can get a pass to The Cage. I don't really see a difference. And once they're here, maybe they'll stick around if they weren't lurking around anyway. Maybe if someone hasn't been active in 6 months or a year they won't get a promo code? I'm sure that could be done.
