Yep, was the left lat. Seems to be better but being very careful with it. Doing mostly pulldowns and some assisted Chins till I build back up. Seems to be doing ok now. Caught a crap on my 3rd attempt on bench in the same lat at the meet but managed to power through it.

Now, if it was not your lat that was sore/injured- this whole reply is for nothing.

“I realized early on that success was tied to not giving up. Most people in this business gave up and went on to other things. If you simply didn’t give up, you would outlast the people who came in on the bus with you.”

Since my meet I have been just about on track with training but now that things have slowed down I have noticed a lot more pain and discomfort in my body. I know there are several factors that weigh in on this but damn... I know the patella tear is worse now so ill prob be going in to fix that first of 2020. Have to put it off till then due to work and kids sch. Lately my elbows and shoulders have really began showing me signs of abuse... Ill be 38 next month and its like my body is starting to say Damn man you aint 20 anymore. What are some of you "older" fellas dealing with or have delt with so far. Due to my right knee my left hip is taking most of the stress now and pains me a bit when I sit and then go to stand at the first step, then eases up. I just don't want to be that 40 something dad that cant do anything because it hurts to move. I just cant tell my head and heart im not 20 something.....

It’s humbling to get older. There’s new limits to learn. Things you’ll have to avoid. But there will still be plenty of things you can go hard on. It’s not over, it’s just a new relationship with your own body.

The other old guys in here hear you loud and clear. Slow and steady wins the race. Or I like to think about the old bull that slowly walks down into the field and fucks them all. Let the knowledge we have gathered over the years guide us and we will establish a new form of old man that doesn't only have old man strength but also has wisdom, looks, mobility, charm, and whatever else we want to throw in there.

Oh yes! It started for me at 34 (I'll be 36 soon). I've got my left achilles heel hurting with sharp pain, my whole body was a giant tight knot until I got a deep tissue, been dealing with a slightly tore/re-tore pec (it's finally healed), possibly have a small hernia in my left oblique area (from a fucking AB WHEEL believe it or not! Funny thing is the same thing happened to KK years ago) and my damn lower back won't stop tightening up no matter what I do!
After listening to an EliteFTS podcast with Dave Tate and John Meadows, John had some interesting points. The main topic was longevity and lifting. He said we all should study sleep and everything involved, actually get 8 hours of sleep and dial in nutrition and all of these start becoming absolutely critical at one point and will need to be the focus to stay in the game. Sounds like we are all at that point!
*The week before and the week after a meet I wouldn't train or do anything even cardio related. The second week after I would start back light and work up to heavy sets of 5 on each of the Powerlifts then start cranking back up at week 3. Recovery is another key factor that was also discussed in that podcast.
Well I just had my knee surgery on Tuesday and already back to work. It went way better than I expected. Had the meniscus fixed and the first PRP shot in the patella. 2nd goes in on the 25th. Hopefully this will heal up the tear in the patella. If not we will have to do a full repair on it too. So far I'm in less pain that I have been in for year or more so its looking up. Training has been going great. Was sad to not have the Arnold this year but I know Animal and something is in the works! Going to start logging again soon here. Just been so busy lately with work and life. Keep up the good work fellas.
