I tend to agree. Although I personally havenīt tried using them heavily as opposed to lightly. I usually just cut them out all together. But Iīm usually always the guy who gets in shape quicker than what I hear from others. Might be a correlation there...
I do as well and still avoid them besides in shakes and bcaas. Just garbage in my opinion
Some people can get by with using ridiculous amounts of artificial sweeteners in their diet. The sweeteners can cause water retention and spikes in insulin if consumed heavily. Personally, I try to avoid them as much as possible. Not only will it cause the water retention and insulin increase, but also cause more sweet cravings. This leads into a conversation on why keto diets are used by certain coaches for particular clients. Less food cravings... easier to stick to the diet.
Yup, it's the cravings that imposes a great threat to your diet. Prevention is always better than cure.
agreed. Amino acids are just too horrible in taste to drink them without any flavoring.
HAHAH I had one of my clients try and cut out all fake stuff and bought straight leucine powder. HAHAHH! He ended up throwing it away it was so bitter. HAHH I tried to tell him!
If your doing everything right from a diet and sleep perspective, the small amount of artificial sweetners in supps like EAA's wont effect much at all. Just try to get everything in pure powder or pill form if you can and keep the sweeteners to a minimum.

Just my two cents.
I would agree. Just some people have sugar free everything. Sugar free jelly, sugar free BBQ sauce, Sugar free chocolate syrup, sugar free maple syrup, ect....

That's when things go haywire... (personal experience) haha Thankfully it was my very first show and I still had almost 2 months to correct it.

I would say it's best to just cut it out. Helps stop cravings if nothing else.

Sugar free may sound good and all, but all the artificial shit in there that is used to make it taste like sugar can't be good. I mean, jelly is basically pure sugar. Maple syrup is sugar. So what the fuck is in it then if it's sugar free?

I could not agree more! When I eat pancakes I want 100% REAL maple syrup! THE GOOD SHIT!

Im the same. I still take my whey and bcaas.
I've heard that as some bodybuilers get closer to prep they cut out whey and bcaas. Does this have to do with the artificial sweeteners? I've heard that whey is because of the lactose causing water retention under the skin, but isnt most protein lactose free these days?
How do you expect to run with the wolves at night if you spend all day stuntin with the puppies?

There are many different theories about that. I never have cut it out for that purpose. I usually do because I rather eat food for I am so hungry but never BCAAS. I mean if you look spot on at 2 weeks out there is no need to change a thing. Too many make all these changes in hope of making some nutty changes the last few weeks but often mess things up because too many variables are changing.

Exactly. If you're not in contest prep, there's no reason why you can't use 100% pure syrup. I tried it a while back and now I won't even use the other regular syrup. Pure sugar syrup. So good. And then when in prep, ditch the syrup. ALL types. Not just switch to sugar free. Suck it up for 12 weeks.

Isn't it amazing to me how much crap we ate as a kid and did not bother us? My mom used to buy the Aunt Jamima syrup, yuk! Full of shit sugar, HFCS, and god knows what else. Nothing like REAL 100% maple syrup! NEED The food stuff!

If I do pure aminos like that, I just scoop them in my mouth and wash them straight down. I certainly wonīt dissolve them in water so that I have to drink the whole glass
